I believe most of America feels this way.
Okay, I gotta admit, I wouldn't bee too keen on having a 125 or 250 as a daily rider. However, I would like them to bring over the Honda CB1100.

Classic UJM styling with modern technology like EFI? Yes, please.

I would love one of those small displacement naked bikes for around-town commuting. It sucks that Americans are so ignorant to the motorcycle market.

Meh, been there, done that, got it out of my system.

Oh, wait, you said modern?! EF-what? You need to put coolant in a motorcycle?! Whuddayah mean I can't adjust my valves with a pocket knife and a pair of pliers screwdriver and a 10mm wrench?

I don't believe it is ignorance. I think it is the reality of the fact that few Americans travel around-town anywhere close to 100% of the time. Most of us frequently travel greater distances, at higher speeds than they do in Europe or Asia.

Some say $5+ gasoline will change what people drive. I don't believe it. I think urbanization will. People moving into the city (and staying there) will change the vehicles they want. IMO.

Great pictures and bikes! I love the W-800, the MZ 6 Days enduro bike, and the SR-500 (my brother has one almost exactly like it!).

+100000. There was a thread I started awhile ago where it was discussed ad nauseam. I would buy one *instantly* if they brought it here. But no... I'll have to settle for a Bandit 1250 one day, and turn it naked methinks. (not that a Bandit is settling at all!)

We'll have to agree to disagree on this one...

Maybe some of us on NESR do this, but I can't help but think (from what I see) that all most people do is fire up thier bike to cruise around at no more than an hour to SBUX / Dunks / Bike Night / BBQ Roadhouse / Circlejerk / WTFE.

In that case, a 125/250 lacks any and all necessary 'cred' for said cerclejerk.

Like taking an 80's FWD Nova to a muscle car hangout.

Exactly. Most of the bikes I see here in town do endless circles around main street. You can sit at a restaurant here in the town center and watch the same guys going around and around for over an hour.

That is because for the average American a motorcycle is a toy or a hobby, not a mode of transportation. Cars and gas are so cheap here that motorcycles are more like luxury toys. I am all for smaller displacement bikes - we don't have enough variety.

Yeah, certainly the US has much different roads. I'm thinking people in the US try to avoid cities when they go riding.
Other nations use motorcycles to get around in the cities more easily...

btw, how come you don't have any pictures of HDs?...

Some more randoms. The TW200s always interest me because I have one myself.

Keep em coming. Japan is the center of the cool bike universe, while the US is in outer orbit.
