Awww I like the city.
I was referring to the Prov
Riding out of PVD today, dude stops half way into the bike lane, opens a nip, drinks it while waiting for me to pass, drops it out his window and carries on. In a contractor truck, with his name on the side. Classy.
Well in 1947 they were in providence then moved to the burbs. So many panhandlers in prov as its a sanctuary city and the aclu says you can't crack down on it. It's a mess trying to wait at some red lights trying not to engage one. My son works until 1am and often rolls down his window to give them money. Not to be unsympathetic but some of them are dangerous or deranged and at that late hour I wouldn't roll down my window. No actually feel safer in nyc, granted Manhattan but still at least a police presence.
If someone can walk and stand there all day panhandling, they can also go out and find a job! Doesn't matter the time of day or night, I keep the windows up and my hard earned cash in my pocket
Thieves are every where... didn't Clay say he got hit in the sticks?
Thieves are way worse in 3rd world countries than US lolol...travel there a bit and you learn a little street smarts to prevent getting hustled...New Delhi India is an absolute riot in that regard
A friend had 3 Ktm's stolen out of his shed Sunday night in Fairhaven MA...a 2009 200xcw, a 2005 50 mini adventure and a 2010 65sx. Lock your stuff, then lock it again.
Is there some outlaw ride coming up or something?
Well only the one bike surfaced in providence and the kid didn't give anyone up. However other PD have been in contact to get info as they said its an organized group running all around stealing what bikes they can.
... or a Soldering tool
or some nice premix of cam2 and Castrol R bean oil
But on TV the punk always gives up his crew!
With a teenage son, living on Dot and going to BPS, we've had conversations about "Snitches Get Stitches."
I've made the point that a snitch is someone who is complicit in a crime and gives information to authorities in return for lenient treatment. A witness is someone who sees an event but is not a participant, and may be compelled to testify.
This story isn't over yet, they're still working on specific leads :nerdy:. Of course the limited mental capacity of these so-called "thieves" should make it easier.
I mean they get into the building and there are 8 BRAND NEW KTMs in the next room (never mind the main showroom) but these geniuses steal used bikes from the work shop:scratchhead: that had NOT been repaired yet. As in several of the bikes they stole did NOT run, at all, no BBRRRRAAPPPPPP
Probably easier to locate the keys to the used bikes than the new ones, though.
I wonder if it's easier to sell used bikes, and maybe they figure individuals will have less resources/time/energy to put towards tracking them down?
Chalk one up for the good guys. One of the guys whose bike was stolen saw a KTM 350 for sale on CL. Price wasn't a low ball price like someone would post trying to get rid of a hot bike. The custom graphics were missing but one decal remained that made him figure it was his. He went to SE Mass to see the bike, identified it as his and notified PD. The CL seller also bought it at a reasonable price, he lost out, but the original owner has it back and its in good shape.
I was hoping the cops got the thieves
So the seller bought it at a reasonable price with no title?
If the seller was legit he at least got a bill of sale when he bought it with that seller's name, etc. keep tracing it back...
