Sorry for the rant. It's been a looooooong week. Had ta work yesterday. I'm under the gun with this project I'm working on. The Navy is coming in this coming Friday to do a First article approval/disapproval.
Anyways, It seems as though everyone else is busy putting CF on their bike and I'm busy taking it off. I do like the mirrors but I wonder how they would look in solid black. I'm curious if they will give you good visibility. they don't seem to reach out that far. I'm concerned about the size of the window I have with the mirrors I bought. At least yours have a bigger window.
I'm painting the two chain guard pieces to match the color of the bike. I did the rear one last week. It looks pretty nice on the bike. I'll post some pics later.

Well, if you're concerned about visibility through my mirrors because of their short length, you should also be concerned about the billet DP mirrors that you're waiting for. The CF and billet DP mirrors are supposed to be identical in length and height.Originally posted by FireNutzRR

I almost forgot about the chain gaurds. I would love to see what yours look like painted. I'm going to check around to see if anyone makes some replacement ones that I could pick up.
Speaking of pressure plates, did you notice any difference in engine revving when you installed you Cycle Cat pressure plate? It is after all, adding to rotating mass, which would cause the engine to rev up a bit more slowly. I am wondering if this is noticeable on your bike.
Also, could you verify that your airbox cover looks like this?
I'm going to open mine, and wanted to try to copy the DP cover, but I've never actually seen one unless this is it. Thanks Wayne-o.
I don't mean to give you guys so much trouble about the carbon fiber stuff...
I really love Carbon & various composites.
It's just that a lot of the aftermarket bling parts made of carbon are fairly pointless. It's almost as bad as chrome on cruisers...
Now show up with a structural part on your bike replaced with Carbon...Now that is impressive..
The air box does look like that. If you open up the air box be aware that the ECU will have to be tweeked. I'm painting the little piece pf chain gard now. one more coat of the base color and then it's time for tne clear coat. I'll take some pics of the air box and the chain guard and air box later and post em up.
I am concerned about the field of view with the mirror I bought from monstrack and DP. I guess I'll halfta sacrefice a little ta have the look I want.

Gotta go and paint. later

So I finally got my clutch springs and spring retainers from the big brown truck today so I decided to install everything.
Here is the new clutch pressure plate and clutch cover installed:
I also attempted to install the mirrors, but could only install the left mirror because the right mirror is supposed to be reverse-threaded, but they supplied a normal thread bolt instead. So you have to use your imagination until I find a similar bolt to use.
I'll post up a pick of my CF toilet seat for Ben when it arrives![]()
Those mods look great Tim.
I still have my Termi slip-on kit for sale.
That way your bike wouldn't only look like wayne's, it would sound like it too.
I was looking at the blue one before I bought my red S4R. If it wasn't for the white wheels, there would have been three of us.
I'm going to price out the new Termi system this week at a few different dealers. BCM quoted me $2800. I think I need second or third opinion though. I'll have to see your boys at Naults.
BCM has the new Silmotor underseat system I want to check out.
Too many toys, not enough time.
Check out the Termi system on this link.
This with the new cams should be a whole new bike.

I will have to pass on the Termis. The Sils sound close enough, so much so that I can't really hear the difference.
I like the underseat Sil setup that you posted. I am a big fan of their products because they sound almost exactly like Termi pipes and usually cost about half as much.
Doooooooooooooode...............I do, indeed like the pressure plate and clutch cover arangement. I almost bought that pressure plate. Thank God right. The mirrors looked good looking at them from the front. I'm not sure about the pic looking from the rear forward. But, they do have nice lines. I dunno about the CF though. It may grow on me.Originally posted by A996S

Great choice with the PP and the CC.

Thanks for the compliments on the clutch parts Wayne-o
my plan for contrasting colors (a red pressure plate on a blue and white bike) worked well I think. It really brings attention to the clutch, as if the sound of the clutch didn't draw enough attention to it.
Truthfully, my first choice was the Billet Ducati Performance set that Chris already has and that you are awaiting delivery of. My second choice is what I went with because you both already have the billet ones and I didn't feel like waiting till next year for Tony and Luigi to ship out the billet ones from the country shaped like a boot. Scotty had the CF ones in stock and sold them to me at his cost, so how could I say no?Originally posted by FireNutzRR
