Depends on how you use it. The RFS motor plus NHMS constantly is eventually going to eat main bearings unless you go putt putt all the time.

Buy the cr500sm - that's the bike to have.

Even if it took you another $1K and 6 months of tuning to get it right...when it's right, it would all be worth it.

I have not read all 11 pages of this thread. In fact, I have not read even the first page fully. But I saw you comparing the GSX-R to the S1000 and chuckled. The one thing the gixxer does have over the S1000 is that it is not as ugly as dog poop with flies circling it.

    That is all.

That's not what I meant. In terms of just speed, I am sure the suzie is right up there, if not better - I have no idea. But there's more to a bike than just HP (to some people, anyway). Brakes, suspension, chassis, electronics, refinement of brakes, suspension, chassis and electronics - the S1000 is a pretty phenomenal package, and to some people, not even in the same category as the gixxer. Too bad its butt ugly.

I am always surprised that people are easy to bracket all "liter bikes" into one homogenous category. That's like saying "All V8s are great" or "All small cars are great" Never got that.

'Grats. Although that doesn't look like any sumo I've ever seen. I presume you have 17's hidden somewhere out of frame?! Is that even plated?

So how much? Less than a DRZ400SM?

The sumo wheels and brakes are with me. Not pictured obviously. Set up to sumo will be happening soon either with Chippers or Smuttys help.
Plated yes. Registration is happening tomorrow.

Price will not be disclosed yet. It is going on CL for more than what I paid for it immediately because I do that with all the bikes I am not sure why I bought lol.

If I'm ever serious about selling it I will post here with the legit price.
Mark was a witness and he will be able to confirm I'm not dicking on the price.
But right now I have absolutely no intention of selling it unless I make a generous profit.
It was less than the DRZ though yes.

It pulls like a mofo. I love it already. Hopefully I don't fall in love too hard with it.
Looks like I'll be doing done dirt riding too

I can help with the Sumo swap as well if you want, just drag it to the track.

Damnit, now I'm going to get all nostalgic for my 520SX...

Josh to be honest I would love the opportunity to go over some things with you about this but I am bringing Tori's 250 at the track with me since it's at my house. Plus if I bring this up chances are we will be looking for number plates Friday midnight...

Good news, I have number plates that used to be on a 520...

We can flip them which means you'll have my number staring at you every time you're in a tuck.

I told you man. I enjoy doing things that people tell me I cannot do.

And the joy is even bigger for all those who say my interest on buying bikes is a joke. Once again you look stupid for opening your mouth.
Sometimes I don't know what I want. And I'm fine with it. But every single bike I have reached out to on forums u had the intentions to buy or learn about it.

This gem is now mine because of a forum connection and an 12 page thread. I'll take it all day. You can't get this price on the forum or the history of the bike like I did thanks to Mark and this forum.

You've got the cleanest and most well cared for 525 around, you scored it! You should have mentioned you wanted to swap to SM right away, could have stopped by and swapped them quick. And those are the good wheels with the dampened rear hub. it's a quick and easy swap with that set up, no messing with brakes and bleeding them with a complete caliper, line and master

If you doc that bike don't ever ask for bike advice again. Especially from me.
