Need to borrow Chain tool!! (stonner?)

Cut off wheel and press machince work great. A vise would do as well or a punch with a socket or someting to allow support but still allow the pin to pop out. Of course after grinding the head off first with the cut odd wheel.

Need to borrow Chain tool!! (stonner?)

Dremel and a ball peen hammer w/ a punch'll do too. Kinda tricky, but I've seen it done...

Chain tools aren't all that much...

Need to borrow Chain tool!! (stonner?)

I DO have a Dremel so I think thats what I'll end up using to grind the rivit down, then punch da pin out.
    Thanks for the tips

Stonner: Randy shown you the master link last nite?? I figure just press the side plate on then use a ball peen hammer to peen the pins....rite??

Need to borrow Chain tool!! (stonner?)

The last 3 chains that I did (2 mine the other a friends) I used the grind the head off the pin method and used a punch and press to get the chain pin to pop out and get the right length. As far as install I have always used a master link (clip style) with no problems.
