    Re: brake lines??

ok so you're just saying they are different? i guess material wise it wouldn't matter. i mean they all claim better than stock which is good enough. would the hole diameter be different? i dont know if that matters as well. price are about the same on ebay so i'll just pick whichever.

Take your pick. They are both good products from reputable companies. (ie: pick one, same shit)

Like GixerJockey, Goodridge lines have been known to have length issues....a bit too short on certain applications (seriously).

    Also, it's Goodridge........fuckin'-a Kham....they aren't tires are they?

    Re: brake lines??

I have galfers they are nice.

The only problem is those rifle-droppers don't include any documentation so it's tough at first to figure out orientation.

    i.e.
what order they go on the banjo
which end goes at the master and which at the caliper
which direction the fittings should go from the banjo
    etc.

You'll have to fudge it for a little while especially since they are pretty stiff and slightly coiled right out of the box.

On certain new models. If your bike's older than a year I'd say you're safe.

    Re: brake lines??

    you'll be fine with DOT4

I don't think you can use DOT5 as it reacts with the rubber components of the brake system. I believe DOT5.5 is the alternative....I could be wrong on that so you might want to double check.

    Re: brake lines??

Do NOT use dot5... it is silicone based rather than petroleum. You're break system is not set up for that

if you want a higher boiling point (you really don't need it, certainly not on the street) then you go with a Dot 5.1. That is a petro based fluid with boiling point characteristics of a dot 5.

...that's why I'm happy to inform you that I use good ole Prestone DOT4 from AutoZone.
I have yet to see brake fade and appreciate the $$ I'm not spending on the "good stuff".

Nothing wrong with that... Boiling point is the same either way. That's what the DOT rating is for.

dry and wet boiling point are both important and are not only dictated by DOT rating
