I need new brake pads front and rear. What's the best kind to get and where's the best place?

indeed... EBC HH's are pretty good. You can probably get a good deal somewhere online... i got mine for 40/side at a dealership cuz i was under a time crunch.

I know i've gotten a few other suggestions when i asked that question... there's a thread about it somewhere.

    brake pads....which kind?

any of them will work just fine. The racing pads don't seem to work as well on the street, but that may just be my feeling. The cheaper ones stopped me much better especially in the rain.

It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?

When I had my R1, I changed out the stock pads for some kind of racing type setup. I hated them, and I felt (as did Degsy who rode my bike a little at VIR) that the stock pads worked better.

I've heard good things about EBC HH pads, but I hear their rotors kinda suck.

As for race pads... they don't work as well at street speeds because you don't necessarily generate the heat that they need to work as they are designed.

I'll put in a vote for Vesrah RJL's. They work good street and for track days also. That plus stainless hoses was a good improvement in bite, feel and they are very progressive as you increase pressure. 2 fingers are all that are needed under most braking situations, and again the stopping power comes on very linear.

I found some Vesrah's on ebay going for like $200! Then I found some EBC's going for $53 + shipping, with enough to do both front calipers. Since I am a poor college kid I think the EBC's are in order.

Sorry missing my text in that reply originally...

You should check with Kates he got my RJLs for a good price, I see them online for $80. You don't want the SRJL those are a race pad that need more heat to become effective.

Do HH pads wear the rotors faster than "regular" pads? I ride alot and figured I'd be better of sticking with "regular"pads to make my rotors last as long as possible. I also should point out that I've never been at all disappointed with the stock brakes on my 9R.
