    "Braking" brand?

time to showcase more of my ignorance:

been looking to replace my front rotors, mostly looking at EBC discs... until I found a killer closeout deal @ DK outlet for "Braking" Superbike Front Brake Kit.

dunno that I've heard of "Braking" brand before... can any of y'all who know 'bout this kinda stuff let me know if they're any good?

    thanx

    "Braking" brand?

i have a question... about wave rotors... arent they for dirt bikes... to provide a self cleaning action?! What purpose do they serve on sport bikes, other than aesthetics

    "Braking" brand?

yup, Mark, it's Braking USA (seems they import their parts from Italia), and they do have wave rotors... but the closeout set I'm looking at is conventional... w/ "aluminum floating buttons on alloy centers machined from billet aluminum".

...which sounds to me like a good thing?

Conventional rotors warp when they get hot, because of the wave shape they can expand and won't warp when they get hot.

I've got Braking USA parts front and rear on my bike.. and love them and have good dealings with the company itself. My bud Todd also has front and rear wave rotors on his bike with no complaints.

Don't forget to replace the pads also when you're putting on new rotors...

    "Braking" brand?

...which brings up my next question: Galfer? Ferodo? EBC? somebody else?

I've used Ferodo & EBC in the past, w/ no discernable difference (to me, anyhow) in performance... should I just reckon that all the "top" brands are pretty close-- at least, in the "sport-touring" way that I ride-- or is there one stand-out I should look at?

If you didn't already order the rotors you could just have Braking send you the matching pads with them.... other than that I only have experience with EBC pads.
