No one takes it as a slap in the face.
I certainly don't speak for everyone, but I think at this point most just think you're a fucking idiot and wish you weren't here.

Ouch. I wouldn't go that far. I mean, who doesn't stop to watch a train wreck?

Why does this bother anyone?

Too many people on this forum spend way too much time telling everyone else what to think and or what to do, and then insulting them for making decisions that not everyone may agree with.
J - Enjoy your new bike, not how I would have done it, but you should know your finances better than anyone and what will make you happy. That is important, you are happy with what you're riding. Enjoy it and be safe!
When someone says that they HAVE to buy from a dealer because they HAVE to finance a $10k bike even though they have $5k cash in hand... and also says they have shitty credit... and a family to support... you don't find that a little bit annoying? Just a little bit?
This kid has a girl and a child, just wadded up a brand new bike that he WAY overpaid for and now he's going to finance a new new bike so he'll have the payment plus the ridiculous amount of additional money he's going to have to pay in insurance for both being a fucking idiot and rear ending someone AND buying a brand new bike.
I don't know, he just hits a nerve with me. I think above and beyond his complete financial recklessness and stupidity is the fact that he comes across to me as thinking he's cute and that we're chiding him because he's a silly newb, when the fact is that I've met 10 year olds with more common sense.
At 31 fucking years old with a family to support, I expect him to act like a man, buy something he can afford and ride with more caution. Instead, he made excuses as to why its OK to get distracted, rear end a car on the highway and then go let a stealership rape him for a new bike in November that he can't ride until May.
But you know, I'm cranky.

I agree with you all the way.....but so what? Why does it have to bother you (and others) so much that you need to tell him to go away?Originally Posted by ThisBitch

Don't worry, Manny... if you asked for our advise, ignored it and decided to waste way more money than you had to, we'd call you an idiot, too.

I expressed my opinion. I think people like that do nothing for NESR. He's already said he wants a NESR hoodie. I'm sure he'll be getting the stickers, t-shirt and hat too because he wants to fit in. I know my opinion is moot due to the distance I am from the NESR population, but I wouldn't want someone like that running around in NESR schwag, it gives the group a bad name.
I also would not be comfortable riding with someone with the kind of judgement he's displayed, nor would I want him to show up at a drunk-a-thon or have to tolerate him at a MCN. I said I don't speak for everyone. I'm sure there are plenty of non-cunts on NESR that would love to take him under their wing and be nice.
I want him to go away. I tried laying off and ignoring his posts, but he just keeps coming up with new ways to irritate me.

The only thing he did wrong was smash into the car in front of him while trying to look at a hot chick in the next car over.Originally Posted by Doc

BTW this guy is no friend of mine, but what bugs me is my friends coming off looking like assholes while trying to educate/impose their will on him.

You don't think taking on new, unneeded debt when he's admitted to having bad credit, plenty of outstanding debt, and having a family to support is wrong? That's not just her opinion, that's basic financial sense. It's also wrong for his family, who will now have to live with his purchase. He knew he got fleeced by the dealer the first time, griped about it, asked for advice, and then went right back to the dealer to start the cycle all over again. Will you give him advice next time he asks knowing that he just ignores it?
And we aren't allowed to give opinions anymore?
