Why would anyone buy a new bike from a dealer when you can pick up and 07/08 bike used right now for anywhere in the 5k range? I paid less than half that for my 05 SV and it runs like a top!

I just started getting into bikes, that would be like me saying because your 38 and don't know what my programming code and logic does that you are clueless. (though in reality you might know programming )

I don't think he was referring to you recognizing china plastics. I agree, it would be silly to expect you to recognize that. I think he was generalizing about the whole thread. And in which case, it really has little to do with you knowing much about bikes and everything to do with you thinking the dealer is your friend and the best place to put your money.
