    Broken down in Medford. Help!

So, on the side of the road. Bike sounds like it may be flooded. Was riding fine, engine started bogging down, stalled out. Was turning over with choke but stalling when I put it back down. Now won't start.

Have to go to work in 2 hours. Thoughts?

If flooded, how long should I give it? Glad it's a nice day!

If it where flooded the choke being on would not have it fire up as that just adds more fuel. What kind of bike is it?

Sounds like you are out of gas or lost a battery connection.

Hyosung gv250. Not out of gas, not battery. The bike still cranks, just won't turn over.

I would look at the fuel pump if it has one, make sure it is pumping gas. Then check for a clogged fuel filter. The symptoms you are describing are almost definitely a lack of fuel to the carb/s.

Does your bike have a reserve fuel switch? Look around the bottom edge of the tank. Tank can sound like there is gas in it, but you can't access it until you flip the switch.

Maybe your mixture was bunk and now your plugs are fouled (using choke on an engine that is already warmed up).

Walked to the closest auto parts store and grab a couple of plugs. Use your toolkit to replace them.

Tried gas cap. Inspected fuel lines, pump, etc. nothing. Also, stupid biker passed me on the side of the road, bike in pieces. Nice.

The bike would not run before he used the choke, and that would not cause the bike to fire while choked then die. That is most definitely a lack of fuel.

If you pull the fuel line off after the pump and crank the bike does gas come out of the line?

Well, if the plugs were on the way out and THEN he choked a hot bike then they are certainly drenched now, fuel shortage or not.

In my experience, I've found that a fresh set of plugs has solved many potential "fuel" issues and certainly worth the $5 investment.

Talking Re: Broken down in Medford. Help!

QFactor, thanks a bunch for the offer. You rock, and my mom will be in your top 8 any time

So, I managed to hail a biker. After about 5 minutes of asking me some of the same questions I got here, he got it started. He turned the fuel valve over to the reserve tank and it started right up. Because the fuel filter isn't clogged and there is plenty of gas in the tank, he thought maybe something was blocking the petcock at the actual valve. He turned the thing all the way around and back to reserve, ran fine. Turned it back to the regular tank, ran fine... Totally odd. Thank you all for all of the help and offers, I really appreciate it! Gives me warm fuzzies to know that I can get help should I need it!

    Now, off to job #2.....

Glad those new plugs did the trick and it wasn't a fuel issue...
