A13x, i agree. It's a nice street bike from Buell. I was hoping for more of a superbike from them. or even something along the lines of the 848.

    Buell racing the new bike?

Eboos, if you are trying to say that the 1125r could compete at the wsbk and ama levels you're crazy! a good motor is one thing and a good chassis is another. That Buell does not have what it takes. Which is not to say Buell couldn't come out with a superbike to compete at the national and world level but you couldn't take that bike out of the crate and go race it in superbike even if you had a shit load of funding.

don't get me wrong here either. I have shitload of respect for Buell my only point is they missed the mark in building a "superbike"

I really don't see why there is so much doubt. The 1125's engine has all of the strangths of the RSV 1000's with the added benefit of a straighter intake path as well as other features. The chassis is one of the areas that Buell has had the greatest level of respect. With these features combined, plus an increase in displacement to meet the 1098R's and race tuning, why would this not be competitive?

How did they miss the mark? Should they have given it a full fairing?

How did they miss the mark? Now this is from a racing view point only.( as a street bike the only problem is it is ugly!) They don't have enough horsepower, the suspension is sub par, belt drive, the weight of the whole bike, the riding position, the radiator pods? it's ugly and fat. this is just club level stuff. you'd have to spend so much money to fix these thing just to come close to running with the other bikes which would smoke this thing right out of the box without spending a dime.

i couldn't even guess what it would take to run this thing in the ama or wsbk.

Sub par suspension? How do you figure? It has the largest production fork tubes next to the MV Agusta F4 and offers 3 way adjustability front and rear. The riding position is easily corrected by adding clipons if you feel you need them. The wet weight of the bike is within 10lbs of the 1098. The radiator pods offer functional crash protection and are leaf spring mounted. The radiators themselves are located in the same place as the Ducati GP6. The power curve of the bike is basicly two straight lines and is accessible throughout the power band. As far as width, this bike has a 50 degree lean angle stock and is much thiner than any inline 4 (not to mention twins like the RC51 and the RSV1000). All of this and it is priced $3000 less then a standard 1098 and $2000 less then a standard RSV1000.

More to come. I have to get back to work.

Because nothing says "lightweight" like a 460 lb bike with a 1200cc motor

    Eboos,

I was at pocono east and thought what a fun street bike that easily is a great TD bike with NO mods

but like others have said .... my first impression after 25 laps was *it would need something to be competitive against established race set ups (jap, ger, ital, ...) such thing as mentioned..... chain drive, lighter exhaust, clip ons,
