Thanks Beet. This ones got slip ons and the fuel injection has been sorted, also Ohlins out back but needs the forks done. What should I expect for rear wheel hp and torque?

    A 99 has less HP&T then mine .

some guys are up around 140hp but that takes $, 80 or so flbs
verry good street bikes. Your going to respring the front yada yada. Look around the zone, they are not every guys bike. But to own one is to love um. Sure not a touring bike. Mine likes to go fast or it would rather stay home. Figure around 115-120 hp & 70-75 flbs. you say the FI has been sorted out, pc 2?

They are noisy, slow and heavy, but for the same price you can buy a bike that performs well. What more info do you need?

It's definately a possibility, but it could be combination of that and a lack of power as well.

    Beet,

Don't let him get to ya......

He's one of them there ZX12 riders that's so used to stupid amounts of tourque that anything less is "slow"

In response to the original poster's question. I second Beet's reccomendation of checking out www.tlzone.net and I have had my TL since '97, first one delivered in NE. It has it's quirks but if you say the FI is sorted and it has an Ohlins on it then you have the two major ones out of the way already. Just get the forks redone like you said you were going to and you should be a very happy rider.

My bike at one time put 128 horse to the rear wheel. Last time I dynoed it it was around 118. I've got 54,000 miles on it and I gotta say when I'm at the track it is fun having guys on "much faster" bikes come up to me in the pits and tell me that my TL surpised them with how much "motor" it has. It's also a decent bike for longer rides as well, I have regularly put 300 -500 miles on it in one day trips and I am none the worse for wear at the end of the ride.

Any other questions you think I can help you with send me a PM and I'll help any way I can.

    Joel

    Love my TL.
Gonna miss it when I sell this spring...
The Ohlins is the biggest bit of sorting that should be done.
Match the forks and you'll be set.
Just don't run the chain to tight.
Next is to get it mapped or PC'd.
I've heard that full systems give a bit of an increase and messing around with the airbox helps too. I've not gone that far. Didn't feel the need. 112hp at the wheel was enough for me!
    Sounds sweet with Yosh slip-ons.
A Corbin seat, Heli bars, and a double bubble do wonders for the "sport touring" aspect.
I've got almost 40k on mine.
