Canadian bike ?

What would be required to import and register a 00 Kawasaki from Canada?? It is a bike that was available in the US at the same time, owner does have the title, and I want to buy it.

I am not sure if they would tax you at the border since you would be taxed when you register it. I think it would be more of a issue with emissions. That is why it is difficult to get cars in the US. If the canadian 12 version is the same as the US (which I doubt) then you should be fine.

I'm thinking a different color and alot closer for less money may work out better. No duty charges at the border, no emmissions issues, and I won't have to buy a speedo. Probably end up with Grego12r's bike I think I can get within $500 of what he wants for it, then pick away at new plastics. That would be $1000 less than the Ca. bike, $500 less cost to get it, no duty charges... and new plastics would only cost me about $2500 I could sell the green ones easily to make up the difference. Oh yeah and then get a Bonneville box. I'm not gonna get fancy again because last time i did I got that crash that ruined everything I'd done over the winter. Now the $$ is on the way so I'm thinking 12R again.
