    Canyon Dancer Alternative?

Anyone know the other brand that makes a motorcycle bar, tie down harness other than Canyon Dancer? I'm not a fan of the Canyon Dancer 1 cause it messes up my grips and the Canyon Dancer 2 is a little bulky for 2 bikes in my very small enclosed trailer.

(I'm not a fan of using the bars. I always go to the bottom triple clamp if possible. Best case scenario, get a Pit Bull Trailer Restraint.)

I used to go for the bottom triple. I won't do that anymore. Truth.

    Re: Canyon Dancer Alternative?

The only problem I've found with the canyon dancer, is the people using them. Most try to crank the bike down to tight and expect it to not move at all...that's what screws up peoples grips, and sometimes a clip-on. Use 4 tie downs total, 2 in the front and 2 in the back and make them snug. If you're worried about a strap popping off the tie down clip, put a zip tie on it.
There are also soft ties that you could use around your clip-ons rather than the grip..or the lower triples. I'm not a fan of the lower triples myself on a sportbike. The tie point is low and narrow and often leaves the bike unstable. Just my .02

I don't always use tie downs. But when I do, I tie to the middle of the bike. I like to hook near the subframe mount. I have fount that this makes the bike way more stable.
That said, I am a convert to the Pit Bull trailer restraint system now.. So easy and secure.

On my racebike I got the Pitbull. For my dirtbike I have two trailor floor anchors. Then using Ancra straps I go from the anchors to the footpegs with a slight forward angle. The front wheel is in a chock. My trailor is small and I don't care for climbing around straps.

    Re: Canyon Dancer Alternative?

I've got an old school Kendin trailer without a chock. I stand the bike up with a Canyon Dancer and secure it with soft ties/straps around the lower triple. Never a problem.

Harbor freight ratchet straps with the straps passed through the eyes of the hooks.

But then I rarely tow my bike.

Any particular reason? That's how I tie down the pit bike.

I actually started doing this with the SV. It works great.

You can use soft ties around the bottom triples. Not a big fan of the canyon dancer. Seems to add too many variables.

Me too, then disaster struck. It may be fine for soft profiled cast triples, but for sharp edged machined trips, no bueno.
