Motorcyclist sideswiped, thrown to the curb in Sarasota road rage incident
Deputies arrest alleged driver in Sarasota road rage incidentFlorida police are searching for a driver caught on camera intentionally slamming into a motorcyclist in an apparent road rage incident. Motorcyclist Darin Hendrickson says he asked the driver to pull over before he was thrown to the kerb.
Sarasota Sheriff Tom Knight said the 'most concerning' aspect of the incident is that Medrano-Bonilla is an undocumented immigrant from El Salvador who entered the country illegally in 2014.

Saw that on the news yesterday, YIKES!
The drivers immigration status has nothing to do with the incident. Why is that reported?

Because people who care way too much about immigration believe that immigrants are dangerous, and this will allow them to confirm their ignorance. Some also act as if this person was never allowed in to this country, that this type of thing never would have happened.

Right. The what-if game. What if that person hadn't gotten in the country?
Or if they hadn't gotten behind the wheel, had taken a different road, hadn't been an asshole, the rider hadn't engaged, etc etc. Any US citizen could have done exactly what this asshat did, and they have in the past. Let's build a wall and keep them out too.

Saw this one yesterday and it was shocking. Another reminder as to why I don't miss street riding even a little.
Anyway on the larger conversation on the driver's immigration status. While I agree with Isaac that immigration status is not a direct factor in road rage (everyone can get angry on the road, right?), I also don't think the information should necessarily be suppressed. The law is and should be black and white. You are legal or illegal. It's very simple. There is no need for political correctness to change the term to 'undocumented' or for us to suppress reporting that information to help that person fit in better. If you are here illegally, you should be prepared to be called out as illegal.

Every street rider has had their space in a lane invaded by a car that never looked, especially when the car was on our left. When I was commuting, it was a weekly occurrence.
Not every street rider responds by punching or kicking the car.
As bad as the driver’s reaction was, escalating a car/ motorcycle conflict while on 2 wheels is classic “knife to a gunfight” stupidity
I wonder if the offender had insurance.

I agree that it shouldn't be suppressed and that political correctness can get a bit goofy, but this isn't really a black and white issue. If someone knocks you out, sticks a gun in your pocket, and throws you over the White House fence, you are in violation of all sorts of laws that carry prison time. Does that mean you should go to prison or even get your mug shot put on the local news?
Many undocumented immigrants didn't come here, they were brought here. Some were given legal status under DACA, then suddenly became "illegal" when Cadet Bonespurs decided to pencil whip it away. It's definitely not so black and white.
This is what happens when one idiot meets another idiot on the street.
The motorcyclist is an idiot of the highest order. The car driver needs to go away for 20 years for attempted murder.
I'm as liberal as they come, but this kind of thing boils my blood. This guy needs a good kicking in prison and hard labor to show him how things are if you come here and act like you own the place.
The 'most important' part of this incident is that it happened in Florida.

I had a Prius do a no-signal-last-second-no-look lane change into me recently. I gave him a good honk while avoiding him. No gestures, just a "Don't hit me" honk. He then came next to me and tried to sideswipe me. For a second I thought he was having a seizure or something and then he did it again. I've never put more distance between myself and a car as quickly before. People are crazy emotional. Rider brought that onto himself but car driver should be jailed for attempted murder.
