Anybody have carfax to run a motorcycle vin?

The best I have been able to do with a Motorcycle, is to call a cop, and have them run the VIN to see if it is reported stolen.

I dont see why an your insurance agent couldn't run the vin for you. Maybe at least some basic info could come up for you, whether it is stolen or not and/or a title status or major accident.

said nothing comes up in the stolen vehicle database. they don't get title status or anything like that though.

So if someone has carfax and doesn't mind running the vin, I'd appreciate it. Just looking for State of last title and maybe a name and title status if it comes up.

If you put that VIN into the free search box it shows up 2 records so CarFax must know something about it. Most likely the 2 records are when it was registered.

nevermind- it doesnt appear that bike was ever registered in MA so I cant help you....

Mike, is there an out of state data base that you have access to? Like if someone bought a bike in NH and then was going to register it here?

I called an insurance agent in Ny and the dmv there to see about a title search, but they said no dice, so I think I can register it in NH without a title and then transfer it to MA. Any of my NH guys verify this?

Just call the DMV of the state that the title is in they will tell you everything....I have done it for MA,NH and FLA

I don't have a title.

That's what I was trying to figure out, it's not MA. Think it might be NY, but there DMV was not that cooperative.
