    Re: carrying a passenger helmet

Depends in part on if your bike has a one of those metal hooks to strap the helmet to. I have it on mine, but it lets the helmet hang so low that it touches the can, no matter how tight I pull the chin strap. I tried hanging it from one of the grab rails, but it looked as though it would flop all over the place, plus it would scuff the paint. So, I do one of two things...I either use a bungee net to strap it down over the pillion seat, or I put it in my tank bag, which is an expandable Marsee brand, and the helmet fits nicely. Either way works. I dont know what attachment hardware your Tuono has, if any, but try the net and see how that goes.

    Re: carrying a passenger helmet

Is transporting your g/f's helmet a one-time thing this weekend? If so, yeah, use the backpack, if it'll stay snug. Over the years, Ive had to carry a second helmet a number of times. So, if you think you may be doing this again, def. look into the net if you dont have any attachment hardware on your bike.

Found this Tuono forum site....maybe you can get answers here:

If you have hooks for nets and seat bags, get a seat net ant net the helmet down.

Something like this (best is if you have something to loop the bunjee around so you can remove the hooks and not damage your paint):

    Re: carrying a passenger helmet

Thanks for posting the pic, Chuck...yep, that's exactly the type of bungee net I was referring to...plus, it has those little plastic caps covering the ends of the hooks to prevent any paint scratching. Cedric-any luck finding attachment points?

eh its pretty smooth on the tail, the only thing i really see working for an attachment point would be where the passenger pegs bolt to the subframe. i guess those nets seem cheap enough i could try one out. it looks useful for other stuff too.

BTW, if you wanna borrow my gigantic tank bag (straps, non magnetic) you're welcome to do so. I can fit Jenni's Jacket AND helmet in there... it starts out at "pretty big" and expands to "friggin huge"

For shorter jaunts I've slung the 2nd helmet over my arm. You stick your arm thru the main opening of the helmet then out the faceshield opening and push it up by your elbow.
