    Thumbs down CBR600RR

Saw one at GBM today going to pick up my seat.

This is not necessarily a thumbs down on the bike but the yellow paint job is really not very nice considering it is the most expensive 600. (Right?) It's more like a Bannana yellow than a cool yellow like a Ducati or the yellow TLR color. Very plain paint job and it didn't have a deep shine to it like some of the other bikes. (Even mine) It didn't even look like the nice yellow VFRs.

All-in-all the appearance was seriously underwhelming next to the new Kawis that they had. (Haven't seen a new R6 yet) It also didn't seem to have nearly enough of the RC211V styling rubbing off on it. I thought it was going to look a lot more like the RC. It just looks like a slighly more edgy F4i to me. About the only thing that was impressive was the swingarm.

Ahhhhh What's a paint job gotta do with ripping teens at Loudon? Even at 50 ft away at 120 mph, you aren't gonna notice much......

FWIW I agree with you Ben. I don't like the banana yellow paint scheme, but then again, I would replace all the plastic and take it to the track. In my opinion that bike needs to be on the track, waste of money on the street.

I hear that the 600RR is NOT doing very well in private club racing, ground clearance issues I am told. Needs a lot of dialing in the ride height etc.

I like the CBR600 F4 better than the CBR600 F4i or the CBR600 RR. The comfy seat and more comfortable ergonomics look good to me. If I were to buy a CBR 600, make mine a used F4.

It really does look like a track bike...

It's just there is a lot of "kewl" stuff on the body work to attract squids I guess, like these neato vents in the tail section, that are obviously going to disappear when the race bodywork goes on.

Well I can say that the red does look pretty cool, I would never buy it as a street bike.

Hmm.. I have to say looking at a dyno graph of the RR makes it look pretty nice. It is much, much smoother than any of the new or older 600s.
