    CHAIN QUESTION??

Was wondering on a 530 chain what is used to put the new master link in/on. They don't have the regular clip master link like the 520 chains. Does any have a tip or tool to do this?

    CHAIN QUESTION??

There's tools out there for it. Pretty commonplace, and not a bad thing to have in your toolbox...

    CHAIN QUESTION??

Probably a rivet style master link, you can get them on any size chain, its just an option you select when you get the chain.

If you're looking to take it off, check with Motion Pro accessories for some chain tools, its about $200 for all the goodies (max) but its a one time purchase you'll use on every bike you ever own and change chains on, unless you go back to clip style again, but even some of the new DID's require a sideplate press for clips.

This tool is also used for reassembly of said chain with new rivet style master link.

If your chain is a DID 530, and you're going to stick with DID and rivet style, Id say check out the DID-KM-500 chain tool, about 100$ and works well, but allegedly only works with a "z" style rivet masterlink from DID, little different from the normal links. I have one and its pretty nice, but not as universal as the MP one above.

IMHO: If you're on the street, I vote rivet style...dirt you'll want a clip, but i wouldnt want to think about a stressed sideplate clip @ 170mph getting loose on me
