Another check in the saved category for me today

So a buddy of mine calls me up (he's actually on here as DistortedVision but never logs in) and asks if I want to go for a rip. I call into work late and we he comes over.
DV: "Where you want to go?"
me: "where do you think I want to go?"
DV: "17?"
me: "of course"

So I lead down and we start heading up. Cruising along and I told him that we'd take it easy and work on lines and shit cause it was his first time there this year and it's never a bad idea to work on lines. We're cruising and catch up to an outback and a R32. The 32 passing the suby as do we. The pass was the turn before the picnic table turn (sharp right then the picnic table HARD left). 32 is fuckin gone around those turns. So, not even with a lot of speed, we take the picnic table turn and as I start to accel outta it the front washes out about 4-5 inches, my asshole pickers, 2 drops of pee come out and I stand her up heading straight for the fuckin gully on the right. She's up, clutch is in and the front brake is workin it's ass off to stop my fat ass with my foot down. DV pulls in front of me and that fuckin suby now passes. I take off after my brief pause to regain composure and pass DV with a "fuckin race tires in the cold". We rip to the top and then realize that its almost 20 degrees colder than home. Wasn't expecting that at all. Left my house at 65 degrees and it was prooly about 47 there. I have a pic at home of the front tire that you can see where she slid which I will post when I get home.

I need to get those Avons on or it has to warm up really quickly...

wow that was a close one. I got some street tires with a little life left in 'em if you want a set. You can have 'em for $50, or a day of cornerworking and taking pictures.

ask the wife. the day after I got back from the track last time I spent 3 fuckin hours cleaning the bike and had it spotless. the rims were spotless and everything. Now they are fuckin dirty again. I need a garage.

these tires are still good - it was just 47 degrees out....

looks like i am gonna be puttin some serious miles on in the next few weeks so those Avons may be goin on VERY soon. I am prolly riding to MA on wed or Thurs then back on Sun, then the race weekend on the 11th and then the trumpet ride the weekend after that. I figure that's worth about 1300 miles or so not including the riding I do around there - that's just to those destinations and back. On another note - who wants to get together in MA when I am there?

i ended up in some1s front yard once long time ago
front blew out in a tight turn @ about 60 i shit my self
& was lucky no cars & no fence or bushs fucked the lawn up back brakes

pucker factor was huge. I thought for sure I was goin down and I was just thinkin to myself how I was going to go down to get the least hurt and how I was gonna not get hit or hit the bike when I ended up in the ditch. There is the side of the road (about a foot over the white line) then a foot or so of dirt then a 2 foot deep ditch a few feet wide then a nice embankment (side of the mountain). I'm lookin at the ditch and wall and the only thing coming to mind it "oh shit, this is gonna hurt". I thought for sure that no matter what the front was gonna lock up once I hit that dirt but it didn't. Thank you HH pads and SS lines......
