    Cleaning leathers suits?

I pulled my old fieldsheer suit out of the closet today and its got all sorts of funk on and around it. It hasnt seen the light of day in about 6 years. I was planning on selling it but it still fits and its so hideous its cool. Really bright neon colors. Whats old is new again right? .... right?
Anyway, its pretty nasty. Lots of crap and dirt on the leathers and the inside is sweat stained. Im not looking to restore it but id like to try to bring its life back abit. Ill probably wear it when im on one of my older bikes so it doesnt have to be in the best condition. Is there a place i can send it to or can i try it myself? Ive looked around and seen people recommending dry cleaning (some say it ruins your fasteners, especially the velcro and elastic stuff) running it on delicate cycle with woolite on the washing machine and finally bringing it into the shower with me and scrubbing it with plain soap.

Here are the pics. You can see the mold? on the leggings. I clean off the jacket already with windex just to get it presentable but it was just as bad as the legs.
I gotta do something with all these suits i have. This one was my first one back in 94 or 95 so it has a little sentimental value. I also gotta get the small hole in the knee fixed if im gonna ride with it. I think i have 5 or 6 jackets and suits and i gotta downsize but id like to clean this one up. The others dont mean much to me so ill just ebay or craigslist them.

Are you sure that's mold? My Vansons usually get white patches of dusty something and Vanson said it was tanning salts leeching out and nothing to worry about.

Brush the dirt off with a stiff bristled brush, use a good quality leather cleaner from the auto section of Walmart/Autozone/Etc, polish with lemon Pledge. Hang to let dry.

    OR...

    Send it to Barnacle Bill's.

May not be mold but it looks like it so thats what i called it. I did just pledge it up to try to get it better looking. One now filthy grey sock later and the suit looks about 50% better. It shines up nicely but the white is still really dirty.

White gets dirty quickly. Head to Walmart and in the fabric section they have leather dye. That'll do ya.

Do you have a particular brand of leather cleaner that you can get locally? Ill give it a go if i can find some.
As for the dye are you saying to change the white to some other color? Thats not something im looking to do, Id rather sell the suit at that point. If your saying get another white dye for it i may try that.

    Lexol will do. Good stuff.

Don't change the color, just re-dye it. Go to the shoe shine section and pick up a bottle of sneaker white. You'll know what it is when you see it. Give it a go.

lexol worked about as good as it could. I think the suits as clean as its gonna get. Ill do a few more cleanings and conditioning as time goes on. Its alot better than what it was. Next step would be a redye i think.

The sneaker white works pretty well for what it is. Easy wipe on and let dry procedure. It's easy and cheap to reapply if you need to touch up.
