Well I had some big plans for my taxes this year but unfortunately I got almost half of what I usually get since my wife finally started working last year. My first priority was some maintence and upgrades for my 06 cbr 1000rr that I bought February of last year. First on my list was a fairing kit, even though I've had a lot of comments about how clean it was for a 10 year old bike. If you looked close you could see a lot of issues like cracks, broken tabs and faded paint. Plus all black just looked too plain to me, so I ordered a kit from one of the better rated Chinese manufactures for a little less then $400 shipped. I can't see paying for oem when I use this bike for a daily driver when ever the temp is over 40 and I will be a lot less angry when damage happens to cheap fairings.
Next up I ordered an Dynojet auto tune, 520 -1 +2, a set of pp3, wrap for my exhaust to hopefully prolong the Chinese fairings, a set of cl braking front pads to replace the clapped out ebc it came with.
Then it was time to address comfort because from the first time I rode this bike I couldn't get comfortable on it for more then 20 mins, I modified my stock seat a cpl time last year which helped but I still wasn't happy, so I ordered a saddle men tech one seat and I zero gravity corsa windshield.
Now maybe it's just me but I felt the single low beam on one side is dangerous plus kinda annoying after you tell the 100th person "no, there isn't a headlight out, ones low beam and the others high beam" riding down back roads after dark when turning on the right the road would disappear unless I had my high beams on. To fix this right I ordered a set of projectors and 6k hids.
Well if I can figure how to upload pics, here's my mostly finished product, next years taxes are gonna be suspension upgrades, I just want to make sure I can ride for extended distances now before investing that much money into a 10 year old bike because even a used set up is gonna be around $2k.
