Cold Weather Gloves?

G'evening,

I'm curious what you folks are using for cold weather riding gloves. In temps above 45 degrees my A* GP Pro's are comfy but I find anything less than 40 to be a bit cold on the fingers. I leave the house around 6 in the morning and have been wearing a set of EMS windproof mits over my A* gloves. No complaints there except I feel like I have club hands....

Ideas?

Some thin glove liners & heated grips keep things bearable for me down to the mid 30's.

A pair of Rubber Gloves help if you can't fit glove liners under your gloves.

I'd like to get some warmer gloves as well though. I might go heated next year.

It was 18 degrees when I left the house this morning. Spring or not, my hands STOPPED hurting by the time I hit exit 10 .... in fact they stopped doing just about everything.......and there were another 8 exits to go.

I'm really not interested in the heated grip route... but would love to find a thin rubber overglove that could at least stem some of the wind flow. I never thought I'd be complaining about a leather glove flowing TOO much air...

Seen these at Moto Mkt.. and the looked pretty serious without the
bulk that makes it dangerous for riding.
The trick is to find gloves that are warm but still allow you
to feel the controls. These seem like good ones!

Just rode today and was very thankful I had heated gloves.

I have the ones above, but I've also been seeing some that look just like regular gloves (some even had armor). Check around, but I think heated gloves are a necessity around New England... definitely extends the season.

if your gloves are perforated, then some closed/sealed gloves is your first step, followed by heavier/thicker ones (similar to skiing/snowboarding gloves)

although I've never tried it, I feel like dirt bike handguards would be another step up, superpassed only by heated gear

the only other recommendation I would make is to get some of those one-time use heat pads; they worked well for me when I spent a week touring upstate NY in the cold rain

I am curious to know too since I ride year round. I can tell you my Tour Master cold-Tex don't cut it at 25-30 degrees. I have been looking at a number of gloves and this is the list I came up with:
1. Tourmaster Winter Eilte
2. Held Icebreaker
3. Orina 118
4. Teknic Thunder Waterproof

I am leaning between the Teknic and the Orina 118. From what I understand they may still not be enough in the coldest weather. Let me know what you decide to get. I also go to work at 6am and granted I am in Boston it is still very cold.

for a ride of any length, at 18°, you need both good glove and heated grips, or heated gloves

get heated grips, you'll fine you use them more often than you would think, kimpex grip heaters are inexpensive, and fit under grips of your choice

riding in cold unprepared is kinda stupid, is it worth frostbite? is it worth a getoff cause you've lost range of motion and control of yout hands, the brake mods you did so that you only needed 2 fingers aren't any good if your fingers don't work, don't complain about cagers with cell phones

I've been riding the past couple weeks and I wouldn't want to leave without my heated grips. For $20ish bucks you can't lose. Once my handguards are installed I should be able to wear warmer weather gloves without any issue.

It's so true that warm hands are critical.

I set up my old race bike to run my heated gloves for the first races of the year (back when we started in early April).

Anyway, I'm positive that the gloves let me win a race or two that I wouldn't have otherwise (especially the 30 minute races).

Nuther vote for Held gloves (mine are Held Hawks) and heated grips. Money well spent.

Guy who bought my old Concours last night was just giddy about the heated grips. He'd never seen them before.

I actually just ordered the BMW Pro Winter gloves. I think they are good quality and the price is right for an excellent glove.
