Not the typical bodywork with clearcoat, this is a relatively small cover on top of the fuel tank that almost appears to have some sort of laminate that was laid over it? I say this because it's bubbling up in places, see closeup pic.

I'd like to clean it up, as much as it makes me cringe to worry about how my bike looks, it's like some sort of Ducati disease... Anyway, I was thinking I'd have to sand all the "laminate" off and then do the rattle-can thing, couple coats, wet sanding, etc.

Any thoughts?
