Spent 2.5 hours putting my old Concours back together on Saturday afternoon. I banged it up pretty good in Nov of 2004 and never got around to repairing it 'til now. What a great bike to ride; amazing how nice it is even though it's 20 years old. I'm sure I'll put more miles on my 9R this season, like every other season, but I'm glad I kept the old bike.
I bet you appreciated that big fairing. It was windy as hell this morning.
I wasted the afternoon away yesterday changing my brake pads and flushing/bleeding the dreaded Honda Linked Brakes. It made for ecstatic commute this morning to realize I actually got them bled really well.
Now as for the drop of brake fluid I found on the subframe this morning.
Definitely gotta work on my efforts to "wrap" the bike with rags before doing it again.
I started commuting by bike last thursday

Hard to believe, but I turned the heat down with 12 miles to go. That big fairing and oversized windshield is awesome on a day like today.Originally posted by benVFR

It was pretty warm this morning.
I just got blew around a lot, which is rare since my bike isn't exactly a featherweight either.
I will prolly "summerize" my cage this week, stabil in gas tank, battery tender on the battery

Wish I could do that. My wife will drive my car for the season and I will prepare my SUV for Summer towing by installing low profile tires.Originally posted by RandyO

Got my first commute in today as well. I haven't winterized my bike in years, and last season it was a bitch to start after the long nap. This year I poured some leftover VP c16 114 octane leaded race fuel in teh tank. Fired right up and it's running better than it has in years! Prolly dissolved the varnish on contact. That will be my new "spring cleaning" routine. Beats taking the carbs off.
Plus, I get a nice wiff of burnt race fuel at each stoplight. I'm like pavlov's dog... evertime I smell it I get into a race crouch and prepare to get the holeshot!![]()
I started commuting last thursday also.
Put 400 miles over the weekend shaking down my modifications.
Got Pilot Powers installed on the spare rims and on Thursday will be installing the Pilot Roads for my commuting tires.
Should be all set for the year!![]()
Yup! Rode the Duc to work....I had forgotten how much fun that bike is...![]()

i didn't see any bikes there other than the ones in the hallway, where is safe to park bikes at PCC? I thought the blue dakota with Ducati all over it may have been yours.
congrats...wish I could have went for a ride
Did my first ride into the office today, all 5 miles of the one way trip were very un-eventful, as was the return. Even rode into school tonight, and did a quick snack run on Thayer Street afterwards.
Have been out Thursday, Friday, Saturday of last week, made it out the Saturday before to attend my 1st annual Dropping of the Helmet on the Ground in Front of a Large Crowd.
It's amazing how well the bike is running considering it got a monthly startup and somehow was on 3/4 tank of gas. Bad owner....!

Got me my first commute this morning. It wasn't bad at all since it's mostly back roads and it takes 10 minutes tops in my truck. The KLR runs like a top even with old gas, a battery that hasn't seen life or a charge more than once since November and no Sta-bil. I love this bike!!!!
Kinda hokey slingin a laptop bag behind my back and riding. At lunch I'll leave it here as I will tonight. Around noon I'll head out to really get her singin around some backroads.

You can park your bike in any available space on the lot. You will usually find a bike or two aleady taking a space, so you can park next to another bike in a single spot.
I did not ride, today. It was much colder this morning than it was yesterday.

I rode to school this morning. Felt much warmer than the indicated 33 degrees.![]()

Yep... I'm a member of that club... I figured my tires couldn't possibly need air. I filled them when I rode in 19 degree weather a month ago... sure they probably lost some air between then and now, but what's left expanded due to the increase in temperature and made up the difference, right? Right?

I have been riding to school for 2 weeks now, been riding on and off 3.
I commuted once last week when it was in the 40s, 33mi each way -- I'm hardcore
I'll probably give it a try tomorrow, just gotta find some tie-wraps so I can stick my E-Z Pass to the bike somehow.
Chest pocket of your gear would be the best place.Originally posted by number9

I can see someone walking away with that or the radar detector.
I am ordering an ezpass sometime this week, goofing with coins
at a toll booth really sucks with gloves and gear.
I finally rode to work for the first time this season today. It felt great!
Got to try out the new rear spring and shock rebuild a bit on the Monster. Seems good, but I won't really know until a track day or some good "sporting" rides.
Now I get to burn the old skin off on the back before putting on the new shoes.....heh heh. "honey what is that smell...and what's burning outside!?!"
