Who commutes to Kendall Square?

I am starting a new job in Kendall Square in a couple of weeks and will be commuting in on the freedom machine a couple days a week.

Anyone know where a good place to park is?

When I worked down there, I parked on the sidewalk at Athenaeum street with a bunch of other bikes.

No, never, like I siad, there was probably 3+ other bikes that always parked there, and it was down a quiet side street. Coming down memorial drive, you go under longfellow bridge, then it turns into first st. and you go over a little bridge over the canal, and its your first left, and I parked on the left just up one building.

edit: Now that I remember, you had to go up to the light, and turn left so you would be going the other direction.

Not sure if it's that much closer to Vassar street, but when I lived in 100 Memorial Apts in the summer of 2011, I parked in the underground garage under the new building at MIT Sloan (E-62).

That was overnight and sometimes for weeks at a time. It was underground (i.e. out of site), only about half-full at the time, and there was no attendant on duty, just a gate that required a swipe card but could be bypassed by a motorcycle fairly easily.

People also park bikes under the Dewey Library, which I did occasionally when it wasn't an overnight thing. While I was a student at the time they had no way of knowing that.

I gotta give you a disclaimer that I don't know if I just wasn't noticed or if they just let me slide, especially under E-62. Under Dewey library more people do it and its more in the open so I think it's allowed (at least for students), but just act like you belong there and I don't *think* anyone will bother you.

you could check the parking garage at one kendall square. Bikes pull in the exit and park just before the gates, dont know if they monitor it or not, see them same bikes all the time.

Thanks guys for the info. I guess there is parking right under the building but it is expensive for a pass. I know it's unattended so maybe I can sneak through.
