One of the reasons I bought a Bike GPS
I had an older TOMTOM Rider II
I liked it a lot. It would NOT handle downloaded GPX file.
Perhaps My incompetence but when I had a gpx it would act as the way point WAS the end of the route
and it was done. So I only got the first leg of a route
However the winding roads feature worked very well maybe taking me on little roads to odd destinations
It was great discovering new places.
I genius that I am thought I would upgrade to a more modern unit that could absorb gpx and run the
entire route, Last year the ZUMO 396 lmt/s went on sale because of new model about to come out for like $280
Various reasons did not put to the test until recently
It did do gpx (warning stop button too easy to hit), Tracks OK but no directions just pink roads
THE PROBLEM my reason for discontent
They publish ADVENTUROUS ROUTING
Well as much as i can see set to smallest hilly and curvy roads
It routes you directly to the nearest numbered highway then directly to your destination using the
the most numbered highways to get there including right through the center of towns
Would not be considered adventurous for a SEMI
My old auto TOMTOM GPS would avoid going thru the center of towns
SO Considering this am I an idiot and not doing it correctly ( many attempts)
or is this just a low featured POS SCAM, and dont go into Loony Basecamp
