Converting to high-mount exhaust?

    Converting to high-mount exhaust?

Have an Erion race exhaust, looking to turn it into a high mount.

Anyone know where I can go to get a new mid pipe made, and bracket made for it?

    Price estimate?

I don't think it's all that hard.. lots of aftermarket exhaust mufflers are held on by a band clamp to the rear set. All you need to do is extend the pipe, which you can just buy a straight pipe and some exhaust clamps and extend it.

I never liked high mounts anyways, putting a hot muffler even closer to me.. bleh..

Getting a straight pipe and sticking it on a.) wont work & b.) would look like shit

Anyone ever convert their exhaust into a high mount? Know of any shops that could make a nice midpipe?

    Re: Converting to high-mount exhaust?

Well sorry for my constructive criticism... I "had" a high mount exhaust as well as a stock exhaust, and a shorty for my current bike. The only difference between the stock one and my high mount was a longer mid pipe by only a few inches.. and to me extending a mid pipe only a few inches is no big deal and would be mostly under the fairings anyways.

Well to each his own then....

Post a pic because I do not think your definition of high mount is the same as mine. The mid pipe needs to be longer and have more of a bend.

I'm sure most muffler shops could bend you up the pipe you're looking for. It may be tough to find a place that will mandrel bend though...

check hindle, you can usually piece together a system with them. you might be able to just buy the mid pipe.
i dont know what kind of bike you have (F4 or F4i), but Micron makes a hi mount for the F4 but you have to lose the pass peg.

Actually, I'm kind of wondering the same thing. I currently have a 2-2 standard mount slip-on system on my SV1000, but want to move the pipes up and in, just under the tail. So, same question as OP: where to get it done?
