Re: Is Kawasaki's design team smoking crack?

The exhaust I can deal with, apparently they're all getting bigger to meet the stricter EU standards, and just about everyone switches exhaust anyway, but WHY do they put the signals there on the stalk? Why cant they put them in the mirror like so many other bikes?

My guess is so if the bike is accidentally dropped, the signal is guaranteed to break.

And about the exhaust, the "megaphone" theme seems to be a common thing after seeing recent examples from Japan in the last few years.

Re: Is Kawasaki's design team smoking crack?

Its odd, because I saw that bike at the NY show and thought it looked pretty good. Who cares about the exhaust, its an easy and cheap swap with the pipes that short.

The turn signals dont really bother me much.

The exhaust is ugly, but like someone already said, everyone changes those anyway. The turn signals though..... <shudder>

it looks like they had a good design going with the headlights and the flow of the bike, but then someone must have thrown up on the plan before sending it to assembly

those signals look like tumors, lol

i think Kawi has gotten jealous about Suzuki touting the Ugliest Bike title for the past 9 years, particularly now that it's been affirmed for what'll likely be another 9 with the second gen hayabugly.

Good job Kawi, eh? Way to take an awesome machine and turn it into a fugly mess. It's like the mark IV to the mark V GTI...a heartbreaker.

I swear...sportbikes are looking more and more like some sort of Insect Transformers. And now this bug. With an equally ugly can. I'll keep my '97's looks.
