In the proud tradition of countdown threads prior: My todo list!
Must do's to race:
- Get fairing stay fixed - Gotta NESRian who has offered to help, I got tied up this weekend though, hopefully I can coordinate with him
- New Boots - My ye olde Alpinestar GPSs were inappropriate when I started, they've only gotten worse since and my putting a kickstart lever through them hasn't helped.
- Flush storage coolant out with water
- Set and record sag
- Verify tent is good to go for another season
Like to do but not mandatory:
- New front fairing stay with new gauge cluster
- New bodywork, fresh paint job
- Get a Ballistic balance charger
- Find a set of rain wheels
- Full GMD suspension dial in
So, I'd say I'm not in horrible shape this year.

forks are done and installed.
new motor runs.
brakes done.
finishing up a few things tonight.
waiting on bodywork to finish then decals.
boots repaired and new soles installed.
waiting on final revision from Heroic before ordering my new suit & gloves.
Waterpump rebuild (inspect my shit while I'm in there, hopefully this does not add to the list)
Top End
Rear Shock needs to go to PK
Hour Meter
Tires
Get rear tire warmer fixed (anyone selling just a rear tire warmer? I'd like to stay wood craft, but my current one just stopped working this past season)
Buy body armor and hope it fill ups my suit. I just keep on getting smaller in the mid section.
Maybe some additional motard swag.
Haven't started a single thing yet, but luckily the list is pretty small. I may buy and not mount tires the first weekend...doubt I'll be going fast anyway due to temps.

ya, good luck with that. i managed to seize a brake pad pin from mixing up "lefty loosey" when taking my pads out to inspect. then inspected my wheel bearings, replaced, and now the center axle sleeve doesnt line up to fit the axle through. everything i "check" causes more work.
That's normally the case for me. Now a days, I just try to get my dad involved on just about anything I do mechanically. He just doesn't have those issues of breaking more shit while fixing that I have always had. Makes me slow down and catches stupid stuff I do. 30 years and counting as a mechanic actually teaches you a thing or two, who would have thought that. I'm lucky to have the resource.

Do you know of a place that will repair your tire warmer? I have been wanting to get my hands on a defective warmer that I can disassemble to find root cause failure. If you're willing to donate to the cause, I will return it to you when I'm done (hopefully repaired!). I just don't want to rip into a perfectly good warmer and risk damage. PM me if you are interested
Spyderchick Leathers will repair warmers IIRC.

Jay, I'm not entirely willing to part with my Woodcraft warmers, but I do have them as a spare set, and the rear works perfect(cord on the front one is wonky). You're welcome to use it if yours isn't repaired in time.
