Kates did go up there in 2011 when he was kind enough to blow up my motor in the bowl and has also kept his license current.

How many races did he do? This same rule says you have to do at least 4 races thats why I ask. Its stupid.
Im not trying to argue with any of you on this. Im just trying to work this out with lrrs.

In the proud tradition of countdown threads prior: My todo list!

Must do's to race:
- Get fairing stay fixed - Gotta NESRian who has offered to help, I got tied up this weekend though, hopefully I can coordinate with him
- New Boots - My ye olde Alpinestar GPSs were inappropriate when I started, they've only gotten worse since and my putting a kickstart lever through them hasn't helped.
- Flush storage coolant out with water
- Set and record sag
- Verify tent is good to go for another season

Like to do but not mandatory:
- New front fairing stay with new gauge cluster
- New bodywork, fresh paint job
- Get a Ballistic balance charger
- Find a set of rain wheels
- Full GMD suspension dial in

So, I'd say I'm not in horrible shape this year.

You forgot the last item on your list: decide not to race for the season.

Might be wrong but I think the rule is you need to compete 4 races every 2 years to keep your 2 digit number.

New wheels, tires, carb... maybe plastics now that I've found PNs to replace all the existing stuff, Clarke tank, new seat cover... get the frame powder coated...

Made progress today finally. First time removing the motor. The actual section in the manual for removing the motor is only about 10 steps long and like a quarter of a page...sadly, each of those 10 steps redirects you to another section that are about 2 pages long each. Good experience, can't wait to dig in, but that was enough for tonight. Shock needs to go to Kates, that will probably be the next thing I do. Completely forgot I ordered my black numbers weeks ago, maybe months...gotta pick those up.

changed the fork oil this weekend because I could not get my uhaul to start to get it into the garage until I dumped anti-gel in the tank and let it sit on the block heater for hours. damn global warming

Does anyone else like their 3digit number? I'm partial to mine and just don't feel the need for a 2 digit. Granted they fit better and look cool on the board but...

Yeah I could never go to a 2 digit. I like my 3 digit too much.

You just need to do it like I did. I went from 179 to 79. Not much of a change and I lightened my bike up by 1/4oz by not have three 1s on it.

Imho, I dont think that there should be so many stipulations involved. If you make it to expert then youve earned 2 digits. You dont have to change them if you dong want to. There are 89 avail 2 digits. Theres not 89 experts. This shouldnt be this complicated.

thats 3. PK hasnt raced in a while but im sure they would give him a 2 digit without question.
its going to boil down to where they stick me. AM or EX. if they give me EX then i want a 2 digit. i feel i earned it.
