If you look down, you go down. That may be fun at an orgy, but it sucks on a bike

Thumbs up Couple O' pics of my new SV :)

You forgot two very important shot angles. One looking straight into the tailpipe, and then one from under the rear tire looking up at the kickstand.

Nice shots, good choice of ride.

Looks great with the bridge. You should try to get some action shots of you dodging big dig debris.

Power Commanders are a waste of money on the SV ...

You cannot improve on perfection and Suzuki has that bike tuned to a T

Cost me over 500 bucks to find out that little gem of information.
However ... if you still want to find out for yourself, let me know.

no. you should desnorkel it and put some spacers under the front of the tank. the BIGGEST problem with the sv is it doesnt get enough air. i dont even know if the K&n is worth your $$ until maybe its time to change the filter. it doesnt really help much either on the 2nd gen sv's. the only advantage to the k&n then is that you can reuse it.

yoshis are a little pricy too. i went with a holeshot and it looks and sounds awesome. the pipes are short (14")and clean (no badging) and the black ones on my 1K are sweet and the one on my racebike looks almost like a GP pipe

check out svrider.com or sv650.org for more sv tips

    My .02

A slip on can on that bike will not require any fuel remapping, so the power commander will not yield major results.

Yoshi pipe $$$, see if Onieda still has the Art race pipe, $213 and it sounds awesome.

The K&N I have no experience with, but don't see it yielding any major results.

The bike's biggest shortcoming is a cheap rear shock and mushy forks. Use the power commander / K&N funds towards a real rear shock and a fork job. It will enable you to get more potential out of the great motor/chassis, and generally enjoy the bike more.

Suzuki FE is another great visual mod that does wonders for the posterior of the bike.

Enjoy the bike and good luck with it!

suspension is nice to have but unless you are gonna be out there riding it hard... you wont notice the difference.

    thanks for the tips guys.

cancelled the order for the PC, still gonna go with the yoshi slip-on (i'd like to get hole-shot but i can't get it for a decent deal at work). I'll probably do tires next since the stock suspension doesn't bother me too much, that and the fact the stock d220's didn't grip as well as i liked during some "spirited" riding.

Dunno what you weigh but I had serious issues with the front end diving and crushing my boyz every time I used the front brake. At the very least, put stiffer springs and heavier oil.

i may put some heavier weight oil in the front forks, maybe i think it was Race Tech emulators (customer is getting these and i'm gonna see how his work for him), and maybe some slightly stiffer springs. I'm pretty sure i weigh less than u also (puny 130lbs). I have had some minor nut crushing moments, but nothing like what i get with the duc (since i'm on the tank). The SV is my commuter bike, and the duc is for the weekend rides. But I do often find myself leaving work in Quincy and end up in the Blue hills in the SV.

    tweezy,

i don't do it formally or nothing, mainly for fun for the past few years. But here's a link to some pictures from the last month or two. https://duey170.smugmug.com/
