    Re: Covid affecting Honda production

I noticed lack of Hondas during my recent visits to the dealership when I bought, and later picked up my new scooter, and I asked about it, they just aren't getting anything from Honda except generator/inverters and snow blowers, While they are not getting everything they are ordering from the other manufacturers, they are getting something, and sometimes have to take on a whole container, but, no Hondas

I think Honda will be the first to go electric in any meaningful way

    Re: Covid affecting Honda production

    This is news-ish.

    From Wall Street Journal:

WASHINGTON—The U.S. Energy Department has concluded that the Covid pandemic most likely arose from a laboratory leak, according to a classified intelligence report recently provided to the White House and key members of Congress.

The shift by the Energy Department, which previously was undecided on how the virus emerged, is noted in an update to a 2021 document by Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines’s office.

The new report highlights how different parts of the intelligence community have arrived at disparate judgments about the pandemic’s origin. The Energy Department now joins the Federal Bureau of Investigation in saying the virus likely spread via a mishap at a Chinese laboratory. Four other agencies, along with a national intelligence panel, still judge that it was likely the result of a natural transmission, and two are undecided.

The Energy Department’s conclusion is the result of new intelligence and is significant because the agency has considerable scientific expertise and oversees a network of U.S. national laboratories, some of which conduct advanced biological research.

    Re: Covid affecting Honda production

its not just motorcycles, I bought a new Civic SI this year and was lucky I only had to wait a couple weeks for my car as it was already on a boat on it's way over here. otherwise the wait was 3-6 months.

oh and they bent me over for $5k over sticker price (which was the lowest I found in 4 dealers, the others wanted $8k over sticker)

I would have never bought if my old SI didn't get totaled, luckily I got $21k for that 8 year old car with 80k miles on it, I only paid $24k brand new so I at least made out like a bandit on that transaction

gas mileage and hp is similar to a camry and cargo area is larger ~24cf vs ~15cf...better warranty...but cvt vs electronically controlled trans and premium gas recommended...base model may be an option

    Re: Covid affecting Honda production

Just sought out the Covid nervous yet thread to see it’s closed.

Been hearing a little here and there about government mask plans going into the winter…

My wife woke up this morning feeling awful and tested positive.

When I worked at children’s hospital, I “didn’t have to get the vax”, but basically did have to, and got it.
Then they told us if we got vaxxed more than six mo the prior we were considered unvaxxed and had to get the booster, which I did in my 30s..

I’ve heard some bitching about the reality or necessity of the vax in the last year by “those” people but don’t pay much attention…

And if children’s hospital says after six months the vax isn’t effective, then.. what now after all this time?

    Re: Covid affecting Honda production

My wife popped hot on the test yesterday. This is her third time getting it. She is vaxxed to the max due to her being around her elderly parents. The first time was before the jabs but the other two were well after she started getting the shots
I've got it twice. Once before the shots came out and once after. I have only had one j&j shot. No boosters or anything.

i believe e30addict was referring to the mask mandates coming back, not covid...covid will ramp up again every fall/winter...masks and mask mandates are ineffective and should not be brought back

Masks are pretty good at trapping aerosols and making them condense inside the mask.

At my previous job, we kept production running at the height of covid by following CDC guidelines. All the techs wore masks when close together. Tons of people got covid from external sources, but nobody ever caught it from work.

I was on a job where about a dozen of my coworkers went out withcovid including the guy I worked closely with. I didn’t catch it, and always had a mouth covering. It would seem that’s why … or I just have super duper immune system, the best!

That's not what a bunch of edgy podcasters said though.

Wife got a random voicemail from her estranged father yesterday. Ramblings about covid coming back to get Biden back in office, via mail in voting. What a loon. Guys lived off SS his whole life (conning the system) and complains about everyone else living off the system.

I think catching it is harder once you have some immunity. When everyone was first getting it (before the vaccines), it seems that one person in a family would get covid and it would spread like lightning -- everyone else in the family would have symptoms two days later. Happened to my friends at work and it happened with my family as well.

After vaccinations and prior infections, this wasn't true anymore. My younger daughter got covid again last summer, and we all expected to get symptoms in the next couple of days. But even though we were exposed, nobody else in the family ever tested positive.

I heard “they” are going to purposely ramp up Covid so Biden can declare an emergency and have there be no election?

This message brought to you by the party that literally tried to illegally overturn the last election and considered implementing Marshall law.
