    My frist day riding!

I hope it lasts at least for a bit...

I'm having so much fun with the bike.

Sure it's a bit uncomfy, but that seems like its the only downside to my gsxr, but im getting used to it.

Great first bike, but not for everyone.

So since you had a 250, it's not your VERY first bike. it's not like you went from zero exprience onto the 600. That's what I want next, a nice 2002 blue/white paint....i get all tingly just thinking about it!

Have fun and congrats and stuff!

    Be careful and wear gear.

Ride often and well to minimize risks.

Ride with someone you can learn from if you have the opportunity.

All other drivers ARE trying to kill you. Forget that, and you'll let them succeed.

I have TOTW1 and 2 and they are great. There's a newer book out too that is worth buying. It's called "Sport Riding Techniques" by Nick Ienatsch. Just came out this year and is less dated than Keith Code's TOTW books. Has excellent photos too.

I couldn't get through that book. It seemed to have some really good stuff, but I can't get past Keith Code's writing style. If I read another paragraph about my $10 worth of attention, I was gonna go crazy. Maybe it's just me though, seems to be considered pretty much the bible of street/track riding.

I liked "Proficient Motorcycling" by David Hough. He explained some difficult concepts in a way I could understand without making me feel like I was back in kindergarten.

We still gotta meet up some time, I suppose lunch rides are out now that you're way down there in MA. How's the ride to the new location?

The ride is OK until I get to the bridge over the Merrimack River in Tyngsboro. At that point it just sucks getting to 110 in Westford via back roads. No matter which back road route I try, and there are tons to choose from, I always find traffic backed up, even on the most obscure routes. I make the first 35 miles in 50 minutes and the last 12 miles in 30 minutes.

I still have your compression tester in my tank bag and would be glad to deliver it to you whenever you like it. I go through Derry on my commute now so it would not be a problem to deliver it in the morning or afternoon. Lunch rides down here are going to suck compared to my old haunts. Too many people clogging up some pretty twisty roads. That said, Dunstable has some desolate roads and deserves a look.
