Ha! i went to Pomfret School, so i use to make the drive every day from south-central MA. Where are you coming from? Route 44 isn't bad, but not overly fun.

No roads in that area are much fun in my eyes, I am glad i now live near the Adirondacks, Catskills, and Vermont.

Oh CT cops blow, don't ask how I know, but anything over 20mph is automatically wreckless driving. They then send it to your state as wreckless driving and have your license suspended in your home state as well. GAY

Conn. outlawed curvy roads and made them all straight as can be. It's the darndest thing I tell ya!

Take a right out of the VB parking lot. Go straight at the split. Twisty road ahead. If you are heading to the VB from RI. Big red or myself can give you some good routes

Grouprider - Check out public route Johnston RI to Vanilla Bean. Zoom in on the roads that surround the Bean...you'll be able to locate a few twisty routes that tie those 4 roads or so together.

The good roads to the Bean are the ones less traveled..and usually involve a couple gravel sections...which is perfect for a Motard

44 is freshly paved between Putnam & Pomfret.. but that being said, it's not getting to the VB that's good, it's just a good jumping off point / meeting place for points further west & north.

Blah, I'm less interested now. I heard that there were super awwww roads involved with VB as a destination. Currently in the process of looking at Red's stuff.....

try searching for "Bean Run", "scenic bean run via MA" "sunday morning, Bean-Suzy Q's" and/or "Bean loop - 169, 197, 171, 198, 244"

That is a descent road, some elevation changes in turns if I remember correctly.
