Moto Morini 3 1/2. Still a couple around in RI and I just saw one in Italy a couple weeks ago.

I had a couple Suzuki katanas. Always loved them. My first “sport bikes”. They haven’t increased in value at all but some people loved them. If I find a decent one at a dirt cheap price I’ll buy it and just keep it as a show piece probably.

Cool looking bikes, I forgot who it was, but a member here had one way back in the beginning years of NESR.

Also have followed a few sales on iconic motorbikes auctions.

That one on Iconic is a great looking example, wow. I'd love to know from first-hand experience what the underseat radiator was like? Seems like an awful idea lol

    Soooooo,

The topic reminded me of the Honda GB500.
That got me thinking about cafe racers.

I need to take one of those Truxton 1200's for a ride when I find one in a dealership used and it's not snowing out so I can demo it. That has always been a bike on my radar. Cult bike? Not so sure but do want to ride one.

Better do it quick as they're offering the "Final Edition" model for 2024 to say goodbye after a 20 year production run.

It also says there will not be a production limit. The Final Edition bits are all cosmetics added the to Thruxton RS

I guess I should've just said the Thruxton will be discontinued after next year, meaning it may be more difficult to test ride one as time goes on.

From my experience, most Triumph dealers have demo bikes (or maybe just the ones I've been to?). The demo ride at Second Wind sealed the deal on my Tiger 1200. None of the Japanese brands have or allow this (that I know of) unless you wait for the demo truck to roll through town.

Let's be clear, an SV is NOT a cult bike. It's the opposite. It's an appliance that is in nearly every kitchen.

The TDM is a good example of a cult bike. That Honda GB500 is another. Seca turbo anyone? SRX. Possibly also the little screamers. CB-1 and the bandit 400. VFR400.

Always wanted a Bimota SB8K and still do, even if I can only ride it around the block.

The CB-1 and Bandit 400 are cult bikes. I would love a Bandit 400. I took one for a ride way back when when they were new. It was such a sweet machine. Great fun wringing it out.

That bright red painted frame just spoke to me.

Didn't want to start a new thread for this, seemed like a fair enough place to put it. Absolutely love the looks, and modern performance to boot, awesome.

Is that for real? What a strange project. Instant cult bike if it is ever released.

They should have included a proper analogue tach for completeness.

It's certainly an appliance, but if Catholicism or any other major religion can be accused of being a cult, so can SVism. It's not about the number of followers, it's about how loony they are. And as we all know... all too well... SV enthusiasts are plenty loony.

The dash on it is unique in that it has an analog display style on the screen. I have the 22 XSR and it has some dumb looking bar graph.
