I did it AGAIN!!!! some people never learn from their mistakes...
Back in 01 I did the SAME EXACT THING!!! I looped a wheelie going down hill while shifting from 1st into second gear...
...and last night there I was...no gear cruising around...screwing around pulling wheeiles all over the place....showing off in front of people...so heading down a small hill i get cocky and decide to shift into second..and WHAMO hear she comes.... I hit the rear brake but it is so out of adjustment it doesnt help and the next thing you know I am sliding down the street on my ass!!!!
.... tell me this was on the fiddy and not your z1k

"fuckit!"
Ahaha... for a second there I thought you looped the Z1k. I would have had to come down and beat you with a stick if that were the case.
I, on the other hand, tipped my Z1k over in my driveway two days ago![]()
Rear brake is everything on the 50, make sure it's adjusted and you shouldn't need to shift while wheelying it.
It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?
I was groggy in the morning as it was about 10 minutes after I got out of bed. And we have a shitty driveway that's bumpy/gravely. I was backing the bike out like I've done at least 50 times before by pulling on the bars and walking beside it. I was going over some bump and got a bit too hamfisted with the brake and pointed the wheel in a funny direction, the bike lost balance and before I could react it fell on the right sideOriginally posted by bigred875
lol..yes I am ok.. but my 50 does have a bit of an attitude problem..
eug wtf!!! how'd ya do that? any damage?
No substantial damage - a little scratch on the bottom of the engine case cover and that round red case cover cover thing, and I bent my right bar-end mirror a bit, which apperently took the brunt of the impact.
ya i know..lol i was going down hill and gaining speed and the frt was dropping in 1st and not enough power to lift it back up..i thought the extra kick into second woulda straightened me out..lol wrong hahahhahaOriginally posted by hessogood

50's are mean. I have a hug scar on my right arm from a 50.
Of course, I was under the impression that the only way they go into 2nd gear was with the throttle wide open.![]()
I hug my fiddy all the time. The trick is to wait until the exhaust has cooled completely.Originally posted by highsider

I spent a month in the hospital, 8 hours in surgery, and 7 months not walking due to a 50.

That 50 is gonna be the death of you. I still have my scar from when I crashed on a 50 two years ago at Laconia.
Yup.
I died once on a 50!![]()
