Daytona 200 results - my thought...

There were THREE factory Honda's, no other factory bikes and about 60 privateers.

Why not run the HRC Honda's against Aprilia Cup bikes? You would have the same result!

Who did they expect to win?

Quite possibly the worst 200 EVER.

This win was great for the Honda PR department, but a HUGE asterik should be put next to this result.

It was certainly NOT the most exciting bike racing I ever watched.....the kid who came in third (I forget his name already?) said it was the most boring race ever.

Edit: After considering this for about three seconds, I'm not surprised - this has always been Honda's strategy, just thrown money at everything so you outclass the competition.

I enjoy watching Zemke race, but over all I thought this race was horrible/boring. Glad to see all Honda's on top! Wish Zemke took it all..
There was only one other name I recognized as a factory rider, Hayes from Kawasucki, but they had an electrical problem and did not complete the race.. He didn't finish another race or was it the qualifier due to engine problems as well?? Anyways Other than those guys I am pretty sure almost everyone else was an independant racer for the 200.

Remember to the AMA less tire changes are the most important.

I have always suspected the AMA was a tool of Harley and tries to discourage anything else. Dirtbikes a grudging exception.

i'm also a jake fan. cool down to earth guy. its fun to watch him ride. with full honda backing matt better watch his back.
