    Delrin Spool sliders?

Went down for the first time today, only about 40, gravel in a corner, pants jacket, helmet, gloves rashed but absolutely no skin off me That IXS jacket that I bought from karaya did an outstanding job. The big delrin frame sliders did great too, but the aluminum swingarm spool bent up and dented the swingarm, doesnt look like it cracked anything yet, but Im thinkin a delrin spool would've been better for the swingarm. Anyone have delrin spools on your bike? are they tough enough to be used with a rear stand?

    Delrin Spool sliders?

Motosliders makes them for Honda and frame and swingarm sliders for SV's.

The thing I like the most about them is they absorb stresses and are self sacrificing.

I am on my second complete pair ... tested and approved.
I like his swingarm design because they double as spools.

    They grind right off.

The frame sliders actually bend a bit as they grind away.
None of the stresses actually go to the frame, looks like shit but it is a great design. (frame sliders for SV.) Swingarm sliders are both gorgeous and practical.

    Delrin Spool sliders?

I like the look of delrin for some reason. Too bad they dont make delrin stator covers, I could see mine grinding away and spewing oil everywhere as me and the bike were sliding toward the ditch, I was thinking I popped a radiator hose and it was coolant because the oil was so thin. The main frame slider did its job VERY well, I dont think ill have another bike without a set installed.

    Delrin Spool sliders?

I have aluminum now, but I'm making some delrin spools next time I make a run of frame sliders. I think metal spools can contribute to battery depletion on cement floors.

The delrin usually stick out further, so they're apt to send your bike tumbling or have more leverage to snap at the mount of the swingarm.

It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?

I think you'd be looking at a lot more damage if that stator cover was Delrin. Looks like the guts of the motor are OK? If that cover was Delrin it'd be toast. Spend a little extra and replace it with a Woodcraft cover. Much better.
    PS Glad you're OK!!!

    Delrin Spool sliders?

Yeah, Looks like a few more feet of asphalt might have started to grind into the stator, but thankfully I think its just the cover thats damaged and some crud Ill have to clean out.
That woodcraft looks nice and beefy, wish I woulda seen that before I ordered OEM off ebay.

I did notice that some delrin spools stick out further, I think that in this instance (lowside, 40mph long skid) though a delrin spool wouldve been better for the swingarm.

I was almost considering not wearing riding pants before I took off, that woulda made some bloody jeans and bruised joints.

    Delrin Spool sliders?

I've got delrin spool/sliders on my 7R. And they're fine for using with a rear stand.

And if they're beefy enough for a pig of a bike like my 7R, then they'll be fine for your bike.
