    back to dirt!

picked up a 2002 yzf 426 (this is my second 426). Now, if anybody can help me with a valve adjustment on the bike i'll figure out some compensation (don't want you to do it - want you to do it with me).

Also - passively looking for motard wheels for this thing.

valves are really really easy to check and adjust. If they're too far out you're looking at engine work. Get a set of gauges and I can walk you through it on the phone.

i did the valves on heaths 426. not too bad. shim under bucket i think (may be OVER bucket though) either way...your pulling the cams to change them and sometimes you can get lucky and just swap them around.

I loved my YZ 426. My first dirtbike and first Motard Much easier to start IMO than the newer 450's with the auto decomp. The 426 was always a first kicker, the 450 takes 2 or 3 kicks to start

on my '01 - I would put the hot and cold choke on to start it - same works for this one.... but hot starts on either were hit or miss.

Three twists of the throttle, choke it, kick through once, bring to compression stroke and kick it like a rented mule. 1st kick...

You were right about hot starts. It sucked if you laid it down on the track
