The charges don’t seem that severe. My guess is that they’ll receive fines and continuation. If they legally owned the vehicle, they will also have to pay to get it back and if they did not there may be possession of stolen property charges.
If any of them also have priors or outstanding warrants, it could be harsher.
The fact that they only caught 7 tells me the police planned this mainly as a deterrent action. If they truly wanted to arrest and charge all/most of them that could have been achieved pretty easily.
Hopefully, the RMV has some ability to also impact their drivers’ licenses if they even have them.
As much as some would like them shot, this is really public nuisance, not murder, drug dealing or grand theft.
Finally, the timing of this is meant to send a message before the warmer weather hits.
My read is that they infiltrated this group. That’s how they were able to position units to box them in. There were BPD and Transit police vehicles shown in the pics, so there was some coordination.
This is MA, of course they'll get slaps on the wrist.
Could be infiltration or an informant used for other things. It was clear that it was a coordinated effort and not something that just happened after a few 911 calls.
It will be interesting to see whether "bike life" gets the message or decides to "take it up a notch"
It's still winter, let's hope they take it up a notch.
there are so many...i could read this for days...i'm so overwhelmed with the number as well as the dumbasses siding with the riders...
hard to find funny ones though..
"All these hard working people with legal not stolen bikes shouldn't be picked on. I bet they all worked many honest hours for these not stolen bikes. These cops are the problem. Now let me kneel for the national anthem...... My kid should be able to rob people and not be harmed."
One dude who missed out on the fun this time...
That the kid from Lawrence who got Range Rovered?
slap on the wrist, cap in the foot, whatever it takes
Infiltrated?
It's Bryan Spilner!!
Footage of these clowns set to Benny Hill music: YouTube
You're welcome.
EVEN BETTER :spit:
 I think your Zuma may be filming / featured in this hilarious video  check it out starting at 19 seconds, "could" be a Zuma lifted over the Jertzey barrier then making a crazy Xscape threw the traffic.
:twothumb: good find, Yakety Sax makes it :shredder:
I like the gang of such idiots in RI last week. One on an ATV tells the cops they'll never catch him then he crashes head on into a cement fixture on Atwells Ave. I'd like to see some sort of lasso like thing tossed around these idiots or a drone dropping a net on them. Or cops on hi- perf ATV park them into a corner.
Giant fishing net shot from a roflchopter. Darwin can't do this alone.
Hi Paul. Careful there sir. You are actually wrong. The police In Brazil shoot first and ask questions later. I never seem anything like what happened here this weekend happen there. For sure, these guys ( I think two of them were from Brazil) are thugs and deserve to be treated like such.
Lane splitting is legal, and there can be traffic rage, but you never confront authority because you know what's coming. Example, I was sitting with my dog in front of our house (which is in a nice neighborhood). A cop cruiser drove by staring at me, made a u-turn, came out of the car guns drawn. Long story short, apparently It was suspicious for me to be sitting in front of a nice house (our house btw). I should have sued. But you kind of those want to do that.
No harm meant in my comment. But would the cops be shooting at someone wealthy enough to own an ATV? That hasn't been my experience in other Latin American countries. The elite usually get a pass. I haven't been to Brazil, but I would love to, though I understand the risks may be quite high right now.
