I just got a letter from my Evil Insurance Company letting me know they're sending me a nice reimbursement for over-charging my motorcycle premiums plus a sizable penalty for ripping me off.

Everyone will pay more, but at least I got some back. There's no way I'm going to feel bad about that check. And at least there's someone to advocate for the little guys when they get caught blatantly ripping us off.

Me too. I called them yesterday and they said they had no way of looking it up and they would be sending letters end of august. lol.

My letter described it as a bit more than half is refund, but the rest is a penalty. That's part that is considered income, since it is not money you paid to Commerce. You need to fill out a 1099 if the penalty is more than $600.

Is that $600.00 total per policy/refund?
What about multiple policy, multiple refund checks, each check less than $600.00, but total checks amount more than $600.00?

i got a check form commerce today for $100. Thats perfect. Im gonna use it to build a mud mower. $100 should cover the cost of it at least.
