DNA Air Filter ?'s

Anyone else had to modify to install a DNA?
As far as I know bike has OEM airbox, the filter is the correct application, but it looks like to get it to fit, I would have to cut about 1/2 inch off the 3 posts depicted in picture #2 to get it to sit flush.... Going on a 2000 R6. Thoughts? (Besides why is she posting this at 10 pm on a Saturday night instead of out partyin'... )?
