Got my "new" bike and letter from NH DMV on beginners course

    So....exciting day for me !!

Got my "new " bike ( 2005 Hyosung GV250 w/ 3000 miles on it) delivered today.

Although I've had my motorcycle license since the late 60's/early 70's, it's been many years since I rode a motorcycle...so I realize I'm back at the beginner stage..

Sent in my registration last week for the NH Basic Rider Course for their MRT Motorcycle Rider Training Program. Received a letter and postcard today from them....All excited, knowing that the Bike was soon to be delivered, I opened up the letter....

    to read.....

Congratulations...you are #2316 out of approximately 3,500 applications received for the beginner riding course.

They'll contact me "as soon as possible" and "no later than 2 weeks before the beginning of the course" for when my application gets processed for a course opening....

What do yA'LL think....I'll be taking the course in November....????

Guess I'm going to have to do some reading and self-teaching, luckily I'm in a dead-end cul-de-sac development, ( big frustrated sigh)....

That's what happens when you sign up at the beginning of the season. I did mine in September, I mailed in the app less than a month before taking the course.

If you are flexible and open to when you take it let them know, because every week someone drops out.

When I inquired at the end of April I was told that things were pretty backed out through July and into August. Government at it's finest.

Take a system that could very easily be revamped using paypal and an online registration site and instead we have "tell us what you're availability looks like and how far you're willing to drive for the next 26 weekends and we'll give you a holler 2 weeks ahead of time."

    Brilliant.
