Most days it was an hour & change, but there were some bad days when I was working in Boston that my 23.5 mile commute (or 29 depending on which route I took) would take almost 2 hours.
Now it's < 8 minutes on the ONE day a month that I actually have to go into the office.

Commuted Boston to Manchvegas daily for a year, and once or twice a week for many years to Auburn. 55 miles, 48 minutes.
If there was so much as a rain drop or snow flake, at 7:30 or 8:00 southbound 93 would be bumper-to-bumper from NH exit 2 all the way to Boston.
The I90 route seemed fastest of the three directions into Boston.
Bumping this old thread...I'm back to commuting to Downtown Crossing/Park Street area once a week. It's easy on the scoot because I just park on a wide sidewalk, but I'd like to find a better option when I want to take a big bike. Right now I'm parked at the very end of a row of metered spots with a cover over it, but I'd love to find an alley/corner/dumpster/construction site where I won't have to worry about tickets or getting knocked over.
Is Kingston St and Avenue De Lafayette to far?
There's a little cut-out in the sidewalk with juuuust enough room for a few bikes. I used to stick my bike right there when I commuted to the building right across the street there... It's been a LONG time since I did that though and you'd def want to scout it out, first.

The building you're looking at right there is actually a city tunnel ventilation building... one of those fake buildings that no one goes into cuz it's all just HVAC for the whole underground highway and/or subway system so no one really gives a shit what gets parked up against it.
It's too bad the company I work for just moved outta the building across the street... If we were still there I would give the security manager a call on your behalf and if he's got any insider intel for you.

I'll take a ride by tonight...that'd be like a 5 minute walk from my office which is fine. Thanks! If I had more patience to deal with Boston traffic/drivers I'd spend some time circling the 'hood for those little nooks and crannies. I had a decent spot by the Orpheum, but when I pulled in today it was pretty active with construction.
