    Best way to drill plastic?

OK, so I just got my frame/tail/bar-end sliders in the mail today, and now I am faced with figurin out the best way to drill a 2" hole in each of my side plastics... I figure I will lay out some masking tape on the front surface and just use one of those circular/saw drill bits. Is this gonna make a wreck out of my plastics?

    Cheers,
    Chris

PS - the skyking sliders seem to be pretty nicely done...

But when we ride very fast motorcycles, we ride with immaculate sanity. We might abuse a substance here and there, but only when it's right. The final measure of any rider's skill is the inverse ratio of his preferred Traveling Speed to the number of bad scars on his body. It is that simple: If you ride fast and crash, you are a bad rider. If you go slow and crash, you are a bad rider. And if you are a bad rider, you should not ride motorcycles.

I have used regular hole saws to cut old plastic fairings. You have to be real careful not to let the bit tear, twist or crack the plastic as it nears the end of the cut though.

Dremel is a great tool to use to clean up the hole or make it larger.

    Best way to drill plastic?

Cool cool... Hopefully I can give it a shot tonight, and I don't end up with torn up plastics! I think I'll go the hole saw smaller than needed, dremel to size route.

    Cheers,
    Chris

Masking tape is a great idea. Make sure it's warm (room temp) so the plastic is flexible. Also lightly center punch the hole before drilling, and if you are using a hole saw predrill the center. If you don't given that it isn't a flat surface if the hole saw drill slips while drilling through it gets ugly fast.
