Why all the hate? Ducati is the only brand I see doing creative marketing and actually attracting new riders to the game. Not to mention the scrambler is a great looking, fun basic motorcycle with a massive aftermarket. The riding gear (though hip) doesn't look like something out of power rangers. They are being copied by nearly every other manu now. Nothing wrong with bringing some stylishness back to motorcycling IMO.

The original scrambler, sure. Fine. It's hipster, stylish, but has decent numbers to back it up.

Now, take that bike, take half the HP away, put on shittier brakes and suspension and you get to save a WHOPPING $500.

And that is called a MISS, ducati.

The 400 was perhaps a mistake. Should have been a smaller motorcycle. Not an underpowered version of the original.

The Yamaha is butt ugly. It ha zero flow design wise. The modern frame doesn't fit, the tipped back tank? WTF. Also, on this type of bike, a vtwin makes loads more sense to me.

The one your talking about is more comparable specs/performance to a monster... to me, just a new look for the FZ series. I don't mind the look at all, and the hurricane graphics make the tank look less like a 1Gen SV tank!

I wrote to Ducati and suggested a retro bike. In the 60's they had a 450 single and then they simply took two jugs and made a twin. I told them to take half a 900 and make a 450 modern single bike. I even posted about about it here in one of my first posts.

I expect a cafe and naked version of this 400 will be forthcoming. And yes the commercial sucks unless your buying a skateboard.

Maybe they could do a full race bike like KTM has with their RC390 and go head to head in a series. That would be awesome. Maybe I need to write a letter.

I like the move to the triple on Yamaha's part. I don't think the frame fits with the retro look, and the tank tipping back in the wrong direction IMO, but eye of the beholder and all that...

I think it'll age a lot better than the rest of the "modern retro's".

I like the mechanical chunky machined look of it. It's a lot better to have this style than something like a new Bonnie with their "hey look I have carbs!" FI throttle bodies.
