    a few ducati ?'s

I'm looking to purchase a 2011 848 in white. But I can't stand the look of the red wheels and red frame. So I asked them if they had the 2010 left over still but they sold it last wknd. So I'm stuck getting a 2011. I asked them if the '11 848 came in any other white packages with the black wheels /black frame. They told me no BUT they are currently taking a few of the dark stealth editions and swapping plastics/tank/and tail pieces with a white edition.
So basically I'm buying a stealth w/ white plastics. The stealth edition is a grand cheaper though and I'm still paying the price for the white.

So finally here's my question...Is there any differences in performance parts etc that would make the white edition 1,000 more? or is it just a sought after color, or what?

No perf / equipment differences AFAIK. The price difference is basically the difference in paint job. It's also artificial tiering, people think the 848 should be cheaper than a 1098 despite really not being any different in cost to produce.

The new "evo" 848s are all the same equipment wise. The older 848 darks lacked a steering dampner and a couple horses, and possibly am adjustable steering head if I remember correctly.

If you were interested in the 08 white, I probably would trade plastics with ya to save you a grand by purchasing the stealth version instead.

Look into a 14T front. It'll fix that.

Also, It's going to be *extremely* lean from the factory. Look into a Fat Duc.

    I'll look into it, thanks.

Haven't really started researching aftermarket stuff but can I throw a fender eliminator on it or does it mess w the entire blinker system?

I personally think the Evoluzione one is the best. Retains the stock turnsignals.

Don't think I'm gonna do too much anytime soon besides a windscreen and some sort of fender eliminator. I'll look into the one u mentioned, thanks.

I really like the carbon fiber tail section on the ducati website tho. Or at least the carbon passenger seat cover

-if you're electronics knowledge is better than mine, you could always put the LED's in the rear vents. Seen one like it with the "city-lights" in the front as the forward indicators. Also, saw one with the blinkers using the rear brake light as indicator. Options...

When ScottieDucati had one for awhile I rode it. Great bike all around, very comfy for a Superbike.

As far as the clutch, I don't know why people get all hung up about the dry clutch thing. The one on the 848 is great. Much much better for commuting and around town.

Better beef up that left hand though, still a stiff lever.

The wet clutches aren't quite as bad on your hand as the dry clutches of old, toss an STM clutch slave on and they're downright polite.
