Ducati Scrambler

    Ducati Scrambler

I tried to get a glimpse when I was at the factory in Bologna last month but they kept it separate from the main factory. Now it's officially out. 4 versions/styles. Thoughts?

    Re: Ducati Scrambler

Ducati finally has another bike I'd love to own, after having eliminated the Sport Classics. I'd take the Enduro model with spoked wheels. I bet it would be a lot of fun.

Odd that the article contains lots of very specific specs, but doesn't mentioned the weight at all.

    --mark

Edit: If I bought one, my first mod would probably be to have different rims laced onto the hubs to enable running a 110/80-19 front and 150/70-17 rear tire. No reason that bike needs a 180-section rear, and I wouldn't want to be locked into that weird front tire size -- plus those sizes would open up a much wider range of tire choices.

Edit 2: Based on the video on the official website (http://scramblerducati.com), Ducati is clearly targeting the hipster demographic. They should spend more time showing the damn bike and less time showing 20-something models lounging around and skateboarding.

Edit 3: Another source says 375lbs dry and a price under $9k. I'm starting to really want one…

Very cool bikes, but now it makes me question the Triumph Scrambler. Have to check it out.

Triumph is going to need to update their Scrambler, in a major way.

I think it be cool if they used just 1 cylinder and reintroduced the 450 lineup.

I've heard triumph is working on a major update on the Bonneville platform to be compliant with the next euro standards. Rumors include water cooling and higher displacement.

I think I like this Ducati Scrambler, although not as much as I liked the sport classics.

The red one has a cool tracker look. Would make an amazing runabout street bike.

Looks cool and good ergo's by the looks of it. Should make for a great bike.

I'm still on the fence about it. I like some of the looks but at the same time it's too "modern retro hipster" style for me. Functionally I think it'll be a great bike though.

I really have to figure out the finances after college, and see if I can afford one of these bad boys. In my opinion they just blew the Triumph out of the water completely.

Looks like a fun little bike. At 410lbs wet, it is ~96lbs lighter than the Triumph Scrambler.

F hipsters, it's not a god damned scooter. Skinny jeans don't look good on any motorbike. Besides, I see this and think its good for people who like to tinker, (like get it home and take off the vape holder and rayban case).

An article I was reading said the wiring harness is easy to work with, and a lot of the parts are interchangeable between the different versions so you can "create your own" scrambler. The full throttle comes stock with the termi's too.

    Re: Ducati Scrambler

Lots of posts about this keep calling it the hipster bike etc. I don't see how this is anything different Triumph's take on the Bonneville.

Cool looking bike but doesn't tick any of the boxes for me personally.

The advertising is aimed for these god damned millennials. Most of the ones I know fall into the hipster class. Can't fault them for advertising to the people who will want them, and you can even get scrambler gloves! Best part about these is within a couple years we will be finding them on craigslist cheap, because they went back to their Vespas.
The name is what keeps confusing me, I see scrambler and compare it to the triumph scrambler, even though it is much more comparable to the bonneville.
I still want a triumph scrambler with 606's. Someday...

    Holy crap, are they ever!!

Bike looks like an 8 or 9.
    Ads are a 2 or 3.

    Fuck me, I'm old.

Hey Ducati. How about a hyperstrada with a 19 or 21" front factory fitted with some 50/50 rubber.

Damn, that one hipster can ride! LOL, this is kinda comical, but Ducati is smart to market to a new audience.

    Re: Ducati Scrambler

I'm comparing it more to the demographic of who would but it, not neccesarily looks. They both retain their classic Ducati / Triumph looks. But from an entry level riders point of view, (besides completely different power plants), I think they are going to compare the two.

The open faced helmet, checkout my beard thing really makes me facepalm. Especially the clips where the attractive female passenger doesn't have a helmet on at all.

Substance, style has stolen your lunch money again.

Yay for new models of air-cooled ducatis though.
